Animal Collective – My Girls Lyrics

Whether or not they are right, Paste quoted this line “I don’t mean to seem like I care about material things like my social stance, I just want four walls and adobe slats for my girls.” A little bit of a twist on what's been transcribed here. |

The Decemberists – We Both Go Down Together Lyrics

To finish this debate once and for all, Colin explained the connection at a recent solo show at the Beachcomber (stolen from the Decemberists' message board):
"One of the great peices of VH1 storyteller type info Colin imparted to the crowd is that 'We both go down together' is a prequel to 'Leslie Anne Levine'. The rich cad throws himself off the cliff at the end of 'We both...', while the woman refrains from jumping but instead tries to give birth to her baby in a ditch and dies. Which of course leads into 'Leslie Anne Levine'." |

You are so very insightful, who would have thought "Leslie Anne Levine" was about a ghost? Leslie died but she did have parents that PREceded her, who may or may not have been in love and created a child...
During a live recording Colin states that it truly is a prequel to the aforementioned "Leslie Anne Levine." Do your research. Oh, snap. |

Yeah, this is a great song. Definitely one of my favorites from Picaresque, but right now it is behind "On the Bus Mall". Thanks for the correction, your interpretation makes more sense. Let me know if you see any more of my failures, otherwise I'll just make the proper changes are made when I buy the real deal. |

The Decemberists – The Infanta Lyrics

There are a few lines in the song that make it seem a lot more dark. For instance "the lake where her cradle was pulled from the water," and "her barrenness barbs her." I do believe that we can assume that she could not conceive and by some Jungle Book-like coincidence they found a young child abandoned in a lake and the queen is bitter about the whole situation. Whatever the case, it's still a great song. |

Hey Eyes, I wasn't getting on your case or anything, I think it's great you took a chance and posted the lyrics, don't regret it. Just thought I could provide some insight. |

I love this song so I have to be anal and make some corrections. Sorry.
"our shoes were our showboats"
"we made a sensation with the gadabout crowd"
"we're two easy targets"
"who paid in palaver"
"your parents were anxious" i think
"one iron que ball"
"and we laughed off the quick tricks"

This could quite possibly be my favorite nine minute song of all time. I mean that in all seriousness. Even with my extreme iPod syndrome that requires me to switch songs constantly, I can always play this one all the way through. Just a beautiful sound. Done with the fanboy rant now. |

"Throw all your hands up" "jump if you feel me, sing if you're with me"? I would have bought this album, but the new 50 Cent wasn't sold out. But they are so right, school is like a penitentary, how did they know how to write a lyric as good as that? |

A Static Lullaby – Love To Hate, Hate To Me Lyrics

You know, these guys aren't bad, but all they do is just throw together a bunch of depressing lines in any random order. An example would be 'Nightmares Win 6-0.' As for "take this blade to my wrist and help me end what makes you ugly," it sung in a catchy manner, but it's nothing that special, don't sacrifice yourself to ASL for that line. |
