The Decemberists – On the Bus Mall Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Thanks for the corrections, I almost regret posting these lyrics. I was very excited to just hear it, and nobody had posted the lyrics yet, so I thought I would give it a try. Normally, I know the differenct between too and two, it was just the excitement...I swear. I'll edit it as needed, thanks! |

Ani DiFranco – Fixing Her Hair Lyrics | 19 years ago |
People are terrible. They are too powerful and too confused. So powerful, they can manipulate emotions all around them, and ignore the consequences of their actions. Women can be just as terrible as men. I wish there were more love. |

Beulah – Ballad Of The Lonely Argonaut Lyrics | 21 years ago |
half by sea through the isthmus o'er the cape they're roundin' and over land follow the shallow ribbon of the plaid in el dorado ways the avalance and the boys are off to see the elephants how does it feel to roam this land like Harte and Twain did how how how does it feel a thousand miles closer to hell over land they passed god’s bluff and crossed the bay’s end half by sea they follow the coast and through the gate where gold is coated with gold on the land and hills where we lay for hours and hours cool gray ladies with ? ? spreading his cheer and they sit for hours and hours the luck of the roaring camp and how they talk the outcast of the flats and their poker face cannot hide the fever of the childrens crusades slow slower than slow days fill into one another gold is coated with gold on the land and hills where we lay for hours and hours cool gray ladies with ? ? spreading his cheer and they sit for hours and hours |
The Beatles – Glass Onion Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Paul is my favorite Beatle and possibly my all time hero. He is by no means a dick head. This is where you interpret the song, or give your opinion, not where you criticize the bands members. |
Phil Ochs – Outside Of A Small Circle Of Friends Lyrics | 21 years ago |
WHY DOESN'T ANYONE COMMENT ON PHIL OCHS SONGS!? He's great, I love this song...kids, lets watch out for each other...there are too many cases like Kitty Genoveese's in this damn country |
Bright Eyes – Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Bright Eyes – Hungry for a Holiday Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Bright Eyes – Nothing Gets Crossed Out Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I love this song so, so much... "So when I'm lost in a crowd I hope that you'll pick me out How I long to be found" I think anyone can relate to that. |
Coheed and Cambria – Devil in Jersey City Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Cursive – The Dirt of the Vineyard Lyrics | 21 years ago |
AH THIS IS MY LIFE....i don't know if they meant it to be, but "if we could push off this sick conversation for one more night, i surely would" that is me....how i hate to trust and be trusted and don't like to talk to morons...yes...stupidly stated and beautifully true. And the majority of this song I translate into having severe trust issues and not wanting people to know anything, keeping your 'dirt' to yourself and what not....(this is just my own mindless interpretation of a song i relate to) but that is how i feel "the dirt is out I thought I'd never wash these hands again" MY LIFE.... And the "are we stuck in these motions again?" that is how i describe being depressed...i hate saying that i feel depressed i think it sounds like you are trying to get attention and are really selfish..i say that i am stuck, feeling floaty...not myself and stuck going through the empty motions of every day life. |
Cursive – Excerpts from Various Notes Strewn Around the Bedroom of April Connolly Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Open Hand – Life As It Is Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I agree with "buttens" this song lacks intelligence in the lyric department, but I really liek the song. The begining is grand |
No Knife – The Spy Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I wish they had more genuis lyrics, their lyrics seem so...small to me, this song is good though, I like it. They are one of my favorite bands, but lyric wise are not comparable to other bands |
Now It's Overhead – With a Subtle Look Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Why does no one comment on Now It's Overhead? They are such a great band. They have great songs and beautiful lyrics. "I'm landing now forgetting how. Your gravity ruins everything" Great stuff.... |
Cursive – The Great Decay Lyrics | 21 years ago |
This song is incredible. It is stating the truth. This is my theory. Your life doesn't matter, my life doesn't matter. We are all just here pretty much by coincidence and we are doing a shitty job at existing. When the world ends, no one will care or remember you. Just kill yourself now...(just kidding about that last part kiddos) |
Cursive – The Rhyme Scheme Lyrics | 21 years ago |
It could be about a girl, but it could also be a comment on society. Such as, everyone is so full fo shit that he feels no one will ever understand the truth, words lose their meaning and people just bob their heads and listen to the happy little sound of it all. And because everyone else is fake, people may think he is just as full of excretement as a christmas turkey. |
Cursive – The Radiator Hums Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"But everyone goes through these trials of truth and self-abuse"....it goes self truth and self-abuse i believe. Great song |
Cursive – The Lament of Pretty Baby Lyrics | 21 years ago |
WHOA...morons post on this. All right, Cursive is genuis. I listen to this song and think about innocence being stolen. That is my plain and simple interpretation of it. Don't say that they suck, they are very good...musically, lyrically, in all aspects they are incredible...think this way kids, people are deeply affected by this music, and it can make you think about life in completely different lights. Just because you don't like it because you don't have enough brain matter to comprehend it doesn't mean you have the right to say it sucks. |
Desaparecidos – Hole in One Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Desaparecidos – The Happiest Place on Earth Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Did anyone read the article in the new york times magazine about Conor Oberst? It was entitled "The Ballad of Conor Oberst". At first they compared him to japanese cartoon figures such as hello kitty and they said he had 'pokemon' eyes...morons.....oh well. Then they compared him to Bob Dylan. I think that is a fairly good comparison, I hate comparing Conor to anyone, but being compared to Bob Dylan is not abad thing. My dad also, without even reading the article thought he was like Bob Dylan, with the lyrics in "Let's not shit ourselves (to love and be loved" (it's a bright eyes song for those of you who do not know): "Honesty, accuracy, they're just popular opinion The approval rating's high Yeah so someone's gonna die ABC, NBC, CBS bullshit" and "I do not read the reviews No, I am not singing for you" Because, according to my father he is saying that "mindless tv stations can kiss his ass along with critics" Then again my father is a moron, but still, I can see where he is coming from. Wow, I am done now. |
Bright Eyes – Going for the Gold Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Where the folk singers, poets, and playwrights* convene Dispensing* their wisdom Oh dear amateur orator They will detail their pain In some standard refrain They will recite their sadness Like it's some kind of contest Well if it is I think I am winning it All beaming with confidence As I make my final lap The gold medal gleams So hang it around my neck Cause I deserve it The champion of idiots" Spell things right kids, but ah well. Great song it is, this is on of my favorite parts...also: "I know a girl who cries when she practices violin cause each note sounds so pure it just cuts into her and then the melody comes pouring out her eyes now to me everything else it just sounds like a lie." I think of it this way...the way he speaks of the sound of a girl's violin and what not, it is the way I think of Conor Oberst's music. Nothing can compare, nothing is as beautiful. |
Bright Eyes – From a Balance Beam Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I listen to this song and read my torn up paperback copy of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". Repeatedly. |
Bright Eyes – Let's Not Shit Ourselves (To Love and to Be Loved) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
My favorite Bright Eyes song of the moment. Great stuff it is. Sometimes I can't think of words to describe a song, and I don't even think I want to. But let me just say that I have more respect for Conor Oberst than anyone in the world. |
Bright Eyes – The Invisible Gardener Lyrics | 21 years ago |
my friend hates bright eyes, and says that they cannot play their instruments...what a dumbass..listen to this song. |
Bright Eyes – Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Hahaha...look at all the friggan comments on this song. It was also my first song that sucked me in to the Bright Eyes mania I suppose. I think I am addicted. He is so genuinely smart, well...lyrically, considering I know nothing other than his music. But the lyrics are so great, and I am ashamed that I will never be able to do that....ah well.... |
Bright Eyes – An Interview with Conor Oberst Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Are you sure he says "it's like walking out a door and discovering it's a windmill"? I am fairly sure that it says "It's like walking out a door and discovering it's a window" Like jumping out a window to kill yourself, or walking out the door and realizing it is a 'window of oppurtunity' (wow did i spell oppurtunity wrong? bah i hate spelling) either way, conor is a funny, funny lyrical genuic in my opinion...i heart you man..mwahahaha |
Now It's Overhead – Who's Jon Lyrics | 21 years ago |
To me, it means that there are somethings that will always be kept inside of a person. The terrible things that can happen to you can't be let out, if they are, it makes them worse, or no one believes you...hence the "lie" but maybe I am interpretting it quite wrong and reading too far into it meshing it with my own life experiences. |
