Tool – Disgustipated Lyrics 21 years ago
I think that the first part of this song is a stab at L. Ron Hubbard and other fundimentalists. I mean, I laugh every time I hear it, because it all seems so rediculous (a carrot holocaust, etc), just like everything that L. Ron has said. As for the second part, I'm not sure what it means, but I think I know better than to just accept the answer of "it's his landlord leaving a message". There's SOMETHING else there...

Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics 21 years ago
So it's saying "no eggs." But Eier (according to my german exchange student friends) can also be slang for "Balls" ie testicles. "Satan has no Balls" see? It's a recipe for some good ass cookies, AND a joke about Satan being a pussy. Good ol' Tool, having some fun. Oh, and if you get the chance to make these cookies, do so RESPONSIBLY. ;-)

Tool – Mantra Lyrics 21 years ago
I squeeze cats all the time when I recite prayers. L-O-L. actually I don't, but the thought of Maynard squeezing a cat is kinda funny. We probably won't ever know what exactly created the noise, but it's a really great intodruction to schism.

Tool – (-) Ions Lyrics 21 years ago
Negative Ions are known for making you feel better. They're found in nature. Positve Ions have a bad effect on people. Positive Ions are emmitted by your computers, tvs, and other electronic equiptment. They're known for making you feel worn down, and give you a negative disposition. Negative Ions are "feel good" Ions, and the band has described this track as the "feel good song of AEnima", further showing just how quirky their sense of humor can be. It also has an amazing feel to it. The change over from the left to right channel is really cool to listen to in head phones, giving the effect of the ions passing right through your mind, which can be seen as a starting point for letting ALL of their music do the same.

Tool – Reflection Lyrics 21 years ago
As most people know, Disposition, Reflection, and Triad were originally one song that got broken up into three pieces. I think that these three songs fit better as one, because it flows so very well, and the individual titles fit with the one that would have been: Resolution. Think about it, with a problem, or a thought process you start off with a particular disposition, and you "watch the weather change" as you ponder it, and you have a reflection, and make a decision. Triad is an amazing piece that ties the entire album and thought process together, with one final 8 minute blast of emotion. And then you're left with a stunning silence before the closing track of the album.

Tool – Lateralus Lyrics 21 years ago
A few things about this song, since it's not possible to fully describe it in this short amount of space:
1) This is an amazing title track to the album, which to me feels like a soundtrack for your mind.
2) Maynard, Adam, Justin, and Danny are extremely talented in putting together this music, and Lateralus is a beautiful song, showcasing all of their talents.
3) I've seen it spelled LaterALus on toolband.com, and it's sparked a number of conversations on t.d.n that it could actually be saying "Later All, Us" tying into the theory of Planet X, and the fact that some time this year all but 10% of the population will be gone.
4) Has everyone listened to
I embrace my Desire to I embrace my Desire to Feel the rhythm, to Feel connected.. etc and heard the multilayering voices? "Step out step out..." is part of it. This part always gets me. When I saw them live twice this past summer and they played this song, I felt this incredible feeling inside. And that my friends, is why Tool is possibly the greatest band eeeeeeever.
