Um... well he was an amazing pro surfer at a young age, i think... youngest to be invited to the pipemasters, was it? And then he had a terrible accident where he hit an underwater reef on a fall and cut his head wide open and nearly got killed..... so I'm thinkin' that might have something to do with what this song is about.... at least what inspired it...... anyway, yes, he is brilliant |

I read somewhere that Jack created this song one night when he and Slater and Machado and the whole September Sessions crew were out on the boat while making the movie (one of my all time fav's) and he sang it to try and ease a poor seasick Rob Machado (also one of my all time fav's, wink wink) off to sleep. Also, i think F-Stop blues might be a camera -term.... Jack being a film maker and all. I LOVE this guy. ; ) |
