| I disagree intoodeep. I think what is going on is he is being hurt by a girl quite a bit "throughout the week"...not so much literally but more in a sense that even though it is the majority of the time, when it comes down to it...he loves her. He is saying that whatever they went throught he puts behind him cause "it's Friday and I'm in love!" | |

My take of the song, although very similar to many of yours, is slightly different... The "I never felt alone...till I met you" part, to me, means that this person has filled his life up with so much joy that when he is not with her he feels empty...like a balloon that you fill up and when deflated again is all stretched out... "Friends say I've changed; I don't listen cause I live to be; Deep inside of you" To me means that he loved being with this girl so much that he spends all his waking time with her, despite what his friends have to say, and he doesn't care about what they have to say cause he feels that being with her is the only thing worth living for. "I would change myself if I could; I would walk with my own people if I could find them" The girl and him are separated and he feels alone because he has alienated himself and knows there are people out there who he would like to hang out with but doesn't know them yet "And I don't want to call you, but then I want to call you; Cause I don't want to crush you; but then I feel like crushing you" The girl has hurt him bad but he still loves her and is torn between how he should feel towards her...whether he should be angry at her or in love with her. "But we were broken and didn't know it" He is realizing that there was always somethign wrong with their relationship..." "Something's gone you withdraw; and I'm not strong like before" After the relationship he is just relaly weak... Very, very good song. I can relate to it a lot, but I won't share because I don't want to be all "wah wah" so...yeah |

| I must say the NOFX version is a hundred times better. I love reggae so maybe that is why I like it better but I just can't seem to get the same feeling out of the Rancid version. | |

| I forgot to mention that the punk craze took sales away from people willingly admitting they are pop, Britney spears and such. So of course record companies needed to cash in on you fucking tools, so they took some chick and morphed her. I have more respect for britney spears than avril. Avril doesnt write her own songs, they are all credited to her AND other people in the cd, britney spears doesnt claim to write all her own songs like avril. And avril seems to think preppies are bad people. Yes of course some are assholes but there are some nice ones. Also avril said she loves to skateboard but when asked to do it in her video she said "no man i suck" It isnt her in complicated skateboarding. She doesnt play guitar either. Haha she also said her music is guitar driven rock. | |

| For those of you who haven't noticed the punk craze that started about 2 years ago with all these "punk" bands that were christian punk bands. Ie. Good charlotte, they aren't punk at all. If any of you (some of you get the point) but part of being punk is not selling out. Everyone sells out to make an album, but true punk bands such as rancid, and nofx will never be played on the radio, or mtv, that is selling out. Anything you see on mtv can be automatically ruled out as punk music. | |
