*Special note - the main content in the lyrics of "stars and stripes" is making a reference to the genocide carried out by the US towards Native Americans. At the same time it is also calling attention to the fact that just as the US exploited Native American nations at the turn of the 19th century in the name of "progress," the US presently exploits third world nations in the name of "National interest" Unfortunately, as in the case of Colombia, US politicians often send armed forces, money, or both, into foreign nations because they have a personal or financial investment at stake; or as a favor to their friends in big buisness who contribute huge amounts of money to their political campaigns. it is not to protect america from a legitimate threat, and not as an act of compassion.

Does anyone know what Paul and Benji are shouting in the backround of this song? I can't find it anywhere... I know Benji says "and they spit on my face" towards the beginning and "But I will overcome" In there somewhere, but I dont know about anything else. |
