Jimmy Eat World – Open Bar Reception Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Fantastic song! I think it's about a guy at a wedding, perhaps one of the groomsmen (though its confusing because he's talking about who he hired to sing, which may be one of the parents jobs?). If he's a groomsmen, he may be talking to a bridesmaid (because of the rented dress and tux). Maybe they were a couple at one point, and since broken up. Now they're in this awkward place, being in the wedding party at a friend's wedding. They finally see each other in a light they never did. |
A Perfect Circle – Imagine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
They absolutely butchered this song. I lost much respect for this band after hearing this version. Lennon must be turning in his grave. |
Jimmy Eat World – Big Casino Lyrics | 16 years ago |
No way this is a song about them breaking up, and that sentiment shouldn't even be discussed. JEW is on top of their game, and their song writing has been getting stronger with every album. A band such as Weezer (as much as I love them) should have hung it up two albums ago. JEW on the other hand is just straight badass. Adkins is a fantastic song writer, and he never stops writing songs. And I believe they have too much fun as a group of friends, as well as artists, to just hang it up. Aside from that, this song is fantastic. I'm very excited for the new album, JEW never ceases to amaze me. Just bought my tickets to see those guys in DC on my birthday (10/30/07). And what a great birthday it will be. Rock on JEW, you're one of the finest bands out today. |
Weezer – Pig Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Amazing song. Yes it's about the life of a pig. Sums up life (for any creature) very simply. The song is very sweet yet sad. Very Pinkerton-esque. Love it! |
Vega4 – Life Is Beautiful Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Great song, just reminds me a little too much of 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol.... it even has the same chord progression... hmm.. |
Copeland – Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i like copeland, but i think they completely butchered this song. They do a better job with Sting and the Police's 'Every Breath You Take' |
Greg Laswell – Sing, Theresa Says Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I've listened to him for about 5 minutes total so far. I can only say its a matter of time until he breaks it big. |
The Killers – Exitlude Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Same here, this is one of my favorites off of Sam's Town. The piano is the best part! |
Matt Costa – Wash Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think he's singing about having something built up so much (perhaps a relationship) and describing what it feels like when everything breaks down, but he still has hope that "maybe we'll come back someday" |
Matt Costa – These Arms Lyrics | 18 years ago |
amazing song i think its quite simple, he's wishing for her to come back to him. maybe he's thinking more about it because "this is our day today" -- perhaps meaning its their anniversary even though they aren't together anymore. might also mean he's out on a boat like il collare said :) |
Cary Brothers – Something Lyrics | 18 years ago |
wow this is an incredible song. I think he sees the girl starting to drift away from him, instead of both of them. He is questioning the relationship, asking if this is love, the way she is acting? Since he sees her drifting away, he's doing what he can to pull her back, but he wants her to leave before she hurts him anymore. |
Remy Zero – Life in Rain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
agreed |
Jimmy Eat World – Disintegration Lyrics | 18 years ago |
correction: try to lie better next time stay on my side tonight... its hard to tell, but the official lyrics are those. |
Weezer – Pardon Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is pretty straight forward. Obviously Rivers is saying that he's sorry to anyone he's hurt, but I kind of wonder if this song is related to him calling his fans "little bitches" in a guitar world interview. It makes sense to me, but this song can relate to almost anyone on a personal level. findsomepeace is right, it is not at all easy to say 'pardon me' to someone. this song, as simple as it is, can tell anyone what you really mean deep down. great song. |
Jimmy Eat World – Coming Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
not sure if all the lyrics are here, but this song is really 'Disintegration' off the Stay On My Side Tonight EP |
Jimmy Eat World – New Religion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Jimmy Eat World also does a cover of Heatmiser's "Half Right", which can be found on their latest EP, Stay On My Side Tonight. It's amazing, I recommend you get it. Also, there is a cover of Wham!'s song "Last Christmas," which is very cool too. |
Weezer – Haunt You Every Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think this song is about the girlfriend or whoever really screwed up the relationship, and the singer is walking away from her without letting her speak her mind. he now calls her "just a toy" and he may be insane for just walking away from it all like he did. since she never has a chance to talk, the lead singer hopes that her memory of him will always stick in her mind, haunting her. its such a great feeling when you do that to someone who screwed you over.. |
Something Corporate – Good News Lyrics | 19 years ago |
the sound of this song reminds me of REM - The Great Beyond. |
Nada Surf – Robot Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is amazing. i like how matt includes dialogue in a few of his songs. a very real meaning behind it, too. i've gone through something very simliar to this so it really hits home. |
Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Might be about someone in a coma, sitting there, hoping and waiting for them to wake from it. Light up, light up (wake up wake up!) As if you had a choice Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear |
Muse – Unintended Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think its about someone who broke your heart, and you sort of moved and and you're currently with someone else, but you compare whoever you're currently with to the one that really had your heart before. the first one you were with broke your heart, but you can't get him/her out of your mind, and you still feel that one day after you get over the pain, you'll be back with the person that brought you that pain in the first place. a straight up beautiful song, and the video is just as amazing. |
Jimmy Eat World – If You Were Born Today Lyrics | 19 years ago |
iTunes |
Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics | 19 years ago |
is that fool still writing crap about the band? anyway, most people have summed up my view on the song, but also consider the "east and north" line, the band is from arizona, which of course is the very south-west of the US. no one mentioned anything about that, so anyone have any ideas? |
Barenaked Ladies – The Wrong Man Was Convicted Lyrics | 19 years ago |
wow, i had this song in my playlist for a long time but never really "listened" to it.... it is awesome. it's pretty self-explainitory. i agree with wrion's interpretation. a beautiful song... |
Jimmy Eat World – Yer Feet Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is amazing. I can relate to it so well... |
Jimmy Eat World – Drugs Or Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song really reminds me of The Verve's "The Drugs Don't Work" |
Brad Paisley – Whiskey Lullaby Lyrics | 19 years ago |
agreed, i'm not a big country fan but this is a great song. |
The Movielife – Kelly Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I find the lyrics to be match almost exactly to my situation. I was with a girl for a while, we had a connection that neither of us had with anyone else before, then she f*ed up big time, and I haven't spoken to her for 3 years and counting. Is it a coincidence that her name is _____ ? "When I figured it was cool, and I figured wrong" |
Local H – How's The Weather Down There? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is straight up badass |
The Police – Every Breath You Take Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't like to think of it as all that much stalkerish. I like to think of it as more "I'll be there if something happens to you" |
Straylight Run – A Slow Descent Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I can see how this song is about the past with TBS, but this song really has meaning for me personally, because the lyrics fit my situation very well. "but as soon as it began it was ruined, a slow descent from unique to routine over and over" This pretty much sums up how my relationships with girls end, the same way, every time. Things get started ok, then somehow I screw it up, and the process just repeats with every relationship. "we said all we had to say and i realized in time that it didn't mean anything" This shows how I try to patch up the relationship by talking things over, but the outcome is still the same. I know no one cares but I thought that I'd share ;) |
Jimmy Eat World – Kill Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Awesome song, I heard the Pamona show version, and the band says the live version is relatively different than the version that'll be on the new cd (album called 'Futures', by the way). It's coming out in October!! :) |
Bloodhound Gang – The Inevitable Return Of The Great White Dope Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is awesome |
Local H – Halcyon Days (Where Were You Then?) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
badass song |
The Stills – Let's Roll Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if this song have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks, since the phrase "Let's roll" was used by the passengers of Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania? Neil Young wrote a song entitled "Let's Roll" shortly after the attacks... Great song by the way.. |
Nada Surf – Zen Brain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Wow no one commented on this song yet. After listening to it just once I was hooked, very soft and the ending is just incredible. However I still don't know quite what it means. Even though it is off of the older High/Low album, it sounds more like their newer, more emo-sounding music, like that off of the Let Go album. This song is a great ending to the cd, just like Paper Boats is a great ending to the Let Go cd). Great song! |
Barenaked Ladies – War On Drugs Lyrics | 20 years ago |
very good song |
Barenaked Ladies – Break Your Heart Lyrics | 20 years ago |
pretty powerful song, and it is pretty cool when he does the "the-a-aaaaaaa" scream... so money |
Weezer – Smile Lyrics | 20 years ago |
incredible song |
Ben Folds Five – Hospital Song Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I agree, it's pretty tough ;) |
Ben Folds – In Love Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Here are the background lyrics: Oleander holly Crimson feed of thalia Beautiful to hold me, my baby the only one who really understands me Floating hand and hand we whisper in the moonlight and say that i'm the things you want to see Coda and her star child Goddess of the moonlight hold me in the morning and tell me I'm the only one alive who really understands you Tell me pretty stories Say you understand me, my baby the things you want to see that I could never be In Love... In Love... Hold me in morning Tell me pretty stories Say that your the only one, my baby But I could never be In Love... In Love... Oleander holly Crimson feed of thalia beautiful to hold me, my baby the only one who really understands me |
Ben Folds Five – Air Lyrics | 20 years ago |
the background sound during chorus in this song sounds like something you would hear as the music in an old nintendo game :) |
Ben Folds – Gone Lyrics | 20 years ago |
yep, awesome song |
Ben Folds – Golden Slumbers Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Great song, and I agree, Ben does make it sound much better |
Rod Stewart – My Heart Can't Tell You No Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This is a badass song. Nuff said. |
Nada Surf – Inside Of Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think this song is like what harper said.. the song is pretty straight forward.. the person is always on the outside of relationships, and believes he is really missing out on something special. In the video, there is a part where it shows a guy in a subway station waiting for a train. Then it shows another guy in the background, and I guess his girlfriend shows up and gives him a big hug, all at the same time the single guy is singing "I wanna know what it's like on the inside of love." That is a feeling I can't even count how many times I've felt. Such a great song! |
The Get Up Kids – Grunge Pig Lyrics | 21 years ago |
