It seems to be about someone who he wants to be with, and she knows it but for whatever reason she doens't want the relationship. However, even though he wants to be with her, he knows he won't be good for her ('be my saviour, and I'll be your downfall'). This is one of my favourites on More Than You Think You Are. |

I think that that lyric ('you're laughing out loud, at just the thought of being alive') is incredibly beautiful. He's looking at this girl and he wants to be her because she can see the joy in life and he can't. |

It's cool that Rammstein are inspiring people to try and improve their German. I'm English, and I speak reasonable German, some French, and a few words of Italian and Mandarin. German is the only language I ever found it easy to learn, and I have a lot of respect for the language, but then English will always be my first love. I don't know how biased I really am on the issue, but I can't help it.
Anyway, about the song, it sounds to me like it has some political undertones, but it is hard to tell. I love the fact that the German lyrics fit so well with the style of music - this is probably the best genre for German, as ballads in German just don't seem to work as well somehow :S. |

couple of corrections to those lyrics as I have the official ones printed in the UK version... living here is worth it sometimes! they're not major but here goes anyway...
The first verse goes : 'The radio jammed, I bet they won't find me'.
In the chorus it's actually 'there's things that aren't worth giving up I know'.
And I'm not sure about this one, coz in some of the songs the lyrics aren't quite the same as on the recording, I think they changed them around just for fun :D but apparently in the first chorus it's: 'I will grow' as opposed to 'I will crawl'. |

Just to give Busted some defence here, they aren't manufactured, they can actually play their instruments (they may not be virtuosos but then how many people are?), and they do actually write their own songs. A lot of people don't believe that, but it's true. I don't think they're trying to be punk or whaever else you're accusing them of, they're just a bunch of guys having a good time and making some money out of it, and fair play to them. If you don't like their music then fair enough, but at least get your facts right. |

I'd agree that this isn't one of their best, but even Counting Crows not at their best is still pretty amazing! I get annoyed with people who say any band are selling out just as soon as they start to get big. If they're that good in the first place, then obviously people are gonna start buying their music and playing it on the radio! And every band is gonna have at least one song that's radio friendly, even if the rest of their songs aren't at all. Oh, and Gladin, Adam says that they try to do something different on every album, that they don't want all their albums to sound the same, which is why each album had such a different feeling to it. |

Just to add to what you've all been saying about the Picasso line, grey is apparently Adam's favourite colour. This was the first song I heard by Counting Crows and I've loved everything else I've heard by them. Adam's lyrics are uncomparable. |

theyearlings is right, a group of crows is called a murder, so the song title has a double meaning, the obvious one being that the girl he is singing to is being murdered in the metaphorical sense by this other guy. And then there's a reference to the name of the band. The only thing that I don't understand is that in England the 'One for sorrow, two for joy' saying refers to magpies, not crows. But I'm not complaining. I think it's amazing the way he can write such an incredibly uplifting song about a subject like this. I love Counting Crows so much. |

agreeing with you, sleeptodream.... I love that line too. I love the whole song. But for some reason I also really love it when he's singing 'and I want you', I don't know how he does it but the way he sings it means that those words say so much.
I like Smoke's interpretation, it's really clever, and the film is one of my favourites, but I can't see it as anything other than in a relationship context. Probably just coz that's the way I interpreted it when I heard it, I'm not saying I'm right or anything. It makes me think of a relationship where everything fell apart when he wasn't there.... but it was falling apart anyway. It took me a while to see that. |

I love this song. I just wanted to point out that the title's not necessarily the opposite way round to the chorus, if you listen it goes 'Every me and *every you, every me*'. You just have to look at it slightly differently. |

Ok, I dunno whether it's from the girl's or the guy's perspective (in my opinion it could be either and it doesn't really matter) but I think it's about someone who's been in a relationship with someone, and has been hurt by them, but still needs them in some way. That's why he/she says 'I wanna push you around' coz they want to but they can't yet. That's the way it worked for me anyway. Either way, it's a fantastic song and it really helped me through bad times. :) |

The thing I love about bands like Lifehouse is that they can write songs that can mean different things to different people. If this song was obviously about God then it wouldn't do so well in the mainstream coz there are so many people out there who don't believe in God. I don't know what I am at the moment, and although I can relate to this song on a Christian level, it makes me think about my boyfriend too. Who cares what it really means, the great thing is this way everybody can enjoy it! And it still rocks! |

Aaron Kamin is also in The Calling and he writes the songs with Alex. Just wanted to clear that up. And I think this is one of the best songs on the album, it's got so much atmosphere. I love this song so much. There's a comment way further up the page, by rainbow6583, that I totally relate to. I had the same problems with my bf. It's ironic how she's singing 'I can save you...' but at the same time she almost wants him to do the same for her, 'I'm sinking slowly, so hurry hold me...' . That's exactly how I feel sometimes, although it's a lot better now than it used to be. This song means so much. |

LOVE this song! I agree with Spider..... the lyrics to this are so beautiful, it's not just about sex, it's got to be something deeper than that. It's got so much of an atmosphere, like all Live songs it's got feeling behind the words. I can't get enough of them!
