yeah, someone needs to fix where it says "everything i say to you will probably come out wrong anyway" when its "anything i say to you is gonna come out wrong anyway".
excellent song, though. |

i dunno but to me it seems like the guy is at the bar with this girl (say, his ex) who he doesnt really care for (you're so fucked up, so fickle), but he doesnt want to go back home alone, so he's trying to talk her into coming with him. yeah. |

this song is one of the only songs that actually makes sense to me on the album. its all in interpretation ya know...like for me it reflects my summer from beginning to end starting with (get ready for a lengthy response here:
1) "i'll miss you when you're gone in pretending that you meant the world to me with that you'd call me a liar and in the making mistake you'll rest incomplete" means to me because at the beginning of the summer i broke up with my girlfriend, who didnt care for much and i gave her a reason why i wanted to end it and she called me a liar and lived her whole summer trying to get back at me (resting incomplete)
2) "in graver mistakes dear mom and dad, i write you in the letter that states (i'll be moving on) when the new days begun forget your son when he's out on his own" / "when the days found figuring will he be home again" / "i'll be home to say i love you and i'll be moving on" which to me is how i took off with my friend to go from Michigan to Rhode Island and called my parents one day telling them i wasnt coming back and there was nothing they could do.
and finally
3) "point your gun in another direction now that you've cried yourself to sleep here in there after the fire" relates to how people were blaming my friend for making me decide not to come back.
so this song has a whole big meaning to me. even though i know for a fact my interpretation has nothing to do with what the song is actually about, but thats the way i see it and thats all that matters :) |
