Ben Harper – Like A King Lyrics

Rodney King was a black guy beaten up by racist white pigs. Someone videoed it but still the cops were acquitted. When he says "a legal lynch mob" it refers to the way they got away with it, perhaps even because of their status. "Martin" refers to Dr. Martin Luther King and I'm sure everyone knows about his "I have a dream" speech, in which he basically said he had a dream that one day there would be no racism. What I don't get though is how "Martin's dream has become Rodney's worst nightmare"? |

The Smashing Pumpkins – Porcelina of the Vast Oceans Lyrics

when i saw the pumpkins in wembley i met a guy who was obsessed by them, and this was his favourite song, which i've always thought is a bit random. anyway, i fell for him... and he didn't call. so the moral of the story is, never let yourself fall for a guy who's favourite song is about a toilet. |

Jack Johnson – F-Stop Blues Lyrics

well before i read this, this song had a whole different meaning to me. as far as i know jack doesn't have a son but it sounds like he's singing about a son, and it says "lift him up to see what you can see, as he begins his focusing", which is like a baby. |
