That song quite simply amazed me. The music takes over you, transports you. The best combination of piano and strings I can remember in any song, and Jonsi's voice adds a sense of harmony. But then, you find yourself trapped in a cold storm that just seems to get bigger and bigger, and there it ends, in a huge cataclysm. Almost made me crazy... and I felt disturbed and almost cried. Very overwhelming. The video clip was good too, although it created a big controversy about homosexuality and media ethics when it was first released. I found the video to be excellent. |

Wow. Very symbolic song. I think it's about love and how someone can be your very own protective angel, someone that comforts you and brings you peace of mind and a feeling of well-being. Sofia Coppola is a genious for using that song in the final scene of Lost in Translation. It always makes me realize how much people can shape your life when you feel completely lost. Those people that appear in your life then fade away. A song with a similar "I'm lost" feel to it would be Girls by Death in Vegas (from the same soundtrack). Another one with a similar meaning is Being Boring by the Pet Shop Boys. |

I think this song can really mean something to everybody. I used to have lots of friends when I was younger (at school, or in the neighbourhood). And one day, I just had to say goodbye. Each one has to go on different directions, on its own road, and run to face life. And I admit I will never see them again. So whenever you miss your old friends or if you need something to cheer you up when you're feeling nostalgic, this song is a cure. |
