One of the best songs off his new album. When i first got my hands on it, i wasn't particularly enamored with it but their's so many tracks on their that will become classics.

The Living End – Wake Up Lyrics 18 years ago
Oh right, great job you dumbshits, go on a rant about John Howard trying to be all socially rebellious and shit, only to turn around and have a go at those you deem to be "asian foreigners".

Yall are such fucking hicks around here, if you know anything, you'd realise that they have nothing to do with the current state of university education in Australia.

I've never been a fan of fee paying students, but many come here on scholarships they won out of academic merit, for all you know half of them are poor. So get fucked, if you really want to find blame, take your cause to neo-conservatists and the spineless members making up the labor party at the moment.

Considering that had it not been for the exploitation of the aborigines and the mass immigration to Australia and the invasion of indigenous lands, you wouldn't be here, some of yall act like you own the place. Fucking hicks, get a new cause and stop fucking whinging on a website about foreigners, they are but a mere drop in the ocean in the scheme of things.

Good song, somewhat overdone but good.

Peace

Jem – They Lyrics 18 years ago
The whole reason it's like hip hop mixed with opera is because it pretty much is. Cut Chemist or DJ Nu Mark (forget which one of the Jurassic 5 DJ's it is) collaborated with Jem on this one and while Jem handled the lyrics, the DJ produced and provided the breakbeat for the song, thus the crossover feel.

Nice song, but somewhat played out,

Kris Kross – Jump Lyrics 18 years ago
Last time they were mentioned, they were ushers at the grammy's or some shit. They seem to have dropped from fame.

Dope song btw, the whole semi gangsta thing comes off all right for some reason.

Ben Folds – Landed Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so good, heard it on the radio like 10 minutes ago, went to his site and watched it again (twice).

Are you serious about the Australian shows being over 18? DAMN! I would've killed to go to the show.

Oh well, this song is just further proof against my fears that when Ben Folds left his band, he'd turn into a lame over done solo artist. Thanks for proving me wrong Ben, your music is the sweetest defeat.

Rage Against the Machine – Born of a Broken Man Lyrics 19 years ago
to Meursaultsrevolver you really need to take a pin to that huge head of yours, you angsty pile of teenage shit.

First of all, in case you hadn't noticed, we're talking on the internet, so sarcasm is a little hard to pick up. Secondly it's people like you who give other young people a bad reputation. Intellect is nothing special, believe me, you're born with the potential, you foster it with a few books and now fuckwits like you think you're king shit.

A true intellectual (if such a thing exists) doesn't berate others for a lack of understanding. Grow up, get a pair and suck up your angst you smacktard.

Personally i thought this was about Christ as well, and how we're all born of a broken man, but not broken ourselves-"Born of a broken man, never a broken man"

I myself am not Christian, but a non-practicing Buddhist. However this song paints a hellish picture and it fucking rocks, i'd jump at the chance to make a filmclip out of this

Rooney – Blueside Lyrics 19 years ago
The whole suicide thing is so lame. Honestly people, this band is one of the most cheerful retro rock bands around. Before you start to make assumptions, think about your own context. Most of you are angsty teenagers with boring middle class lives (no offense....actually i don't care if i am offensive, it's most likely true) not to mention you all probably want to kill yourselves as well. Rooney are a great band, but if you look at most of their songs, they aren't very heavy in their lyric meanings, the band is a feel good rock outfit and they're just there to have fun.

I'd say it's more about someone who feels anxious around somoeone they're interested in and so gets all flushed and embarressed. Now tell me, what colour do you usually go when you're blushing and nervous? Red and when you finally get over it you can act cool, be yourself; in this person's case "show you their blueside"

I know you are all into that hidden meaning bullshit and the references to god or a higher power do add some validity to your assumptions, but suicide just doesn't fit the melody in any way at all.

Daft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Lyrics 19 years ago
Not really much i can offer insight wise on this song, but the lyrics are perfectly correct. I own this CD and the lyrics for each song are printed in the cover booklet for the album.

Great album, most of the songs are solid, i wish i had their first album though, i've heard that "Homework" is even better.

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five – The Message Lyrics 19 years ago
Probably a hip hop anthem for every person in the ghetto's of New York and Los Angeles. Grandmaster Flash is one of the original masters of Hip Hop, a great beat maker and an awesome MC.

For me, this song tells of how people so easily turn into "pimps, pushers, smugglers and burglars" in places like the Bronx and Compton. When you have such a shitty neighbourhood to live in, with crime, rape, murder, prostitution, parents that don't care and a school system that's totally fucked, it can be all too simple to lose your way. This follows the life of one person for the second half of the rhyme and tells of his fast life as a pimp/pusher/scrambler right up to his death in prison after leading a terrible life of unhappiness.

Blur – Coffee & TV Lyrics 19 years ago
Truly one of my favourite songs ever. If i ever find love this will be my song for her. It's about just wanting to escape the harshness of life, and existe other's have said) safely and in obscurity with totally mediocre aims. Even though it has melancholy and sometimes sad lyrics, it has a happy sound, and it makes you feel good if you're feeling like shit.

Led Zeppelin – Achilles Last Stand Lyrics 19 years ago
Personally, i believe that it's this song that will be looked back upon as what Led Zeppelin were all about.

It's truly the most epic of their songs, and i feel that it's one of the most definitive rock songs of the 70's.

As for Stairway to heaven being equal to it, i don't really get how you could even compare stairway to heaven to Achilles Last Stand. Stairway to Heaven is soft boring overdone rock, that lacks the genius and musical depth of Achilles Last Stand.

Along with No Quarter, this is my favourite Led Zeppelin song.

i have to agree with moon baby. we should just leave people alone with their own likes and dislikes. we need to understand and accept the differences that make us unique but also use our similarities to instill brother and sisterhood to make us stronger.

Linkin Park – Crawling Lyrics 22 years ago
Linkin Park are very smart and you guys need to understand that when bands join the music industry in a way like those members of Linkin Park did they aren't going to want to look like cheapshots who want to make easy money. No they weren't taking the easy way out in this song, their filmclip had too much effort and thought put into it and the subliminal and ironic gestures in this song are toooooo well thought up for someone trying to "make easy money" as some people would have us believe. And another point, not many boy bands i know about talk about suicide, depression and schizophrenia in their songs. It's all about girls and relationships that are sweet and "good" with boy bands. If Linkin Park were trying to be like a boy band at all they wouldn't be so god damn heavy in their issues. I agree with what someone said a while back about their songs being general, but as with most people and groups of people their are a multitude of experiences in people's lives and alot of them are bad. I have felt like committing suicide many times during my early high school life and Linkin Park's songs have helped me to look above and push on out of my hellhole. Go Linkin Park all the way. By the way this song is obviously about schizophrenia, depression and constant abuse, not drug addiction. Sorry to burst people's bubble but this song doesn't really refer to drugs much and none of them really do. Anyway i just want to say that as the newest member of the SONGMEANINGS.net community that it is an amazing pleasure to be among people of such articulate minds. I appreciate all input and criticism on my comments as long as it is constructive, for that is the only way we will continue to push ahead in this world. Here's a brief bios on myself if anyone wants to know.
Name: Sanjay Ramzan
Gender: Male( of course)
Location: Newcastle Australia
Age: 14
Fave Bands and singers: Linkin Park of course! Dr Dre, Motor Ace (Aussie Band), Eminem, Dr Dre, tonnes of others but i have to stop now.
To all those people who question the depth of Linkin Park's songs, get a life. People go through these things every day, sure their songs are general but lots of people have lots of problems. And to those asswipes who say LP's songs aren't deep, if LP's songs aren't deep what is idiots??
I leave the question and the gauntlet to be taken up by you people. Hit me back anytime
Luv 4 all
