Nirvana – Swap Meet Lyrics

This was also used in the bands humorous, first biography for Geffen Records. Kurt and Chris were said to have met at "The Grays Harbor Institute of Northwest Crafts." Chris is described as having a passion for "gluing seashells and driftwood on burlap" and said " I liked what Kurt was doing. I asked him what his thoughts were on a macaroni mobile I was working on. He suggested I glue glitter on it. That really made it!" |

Nirvana – Scoff Lyrics

"Scoff" is a rare, un-ironic self confident response to those who scoffed, instead of encouraged, Kurt. Who does not see himself as lazy, and responds by demanding his alcohol, which they cannot withhold from him anymore. |

That's right, but the first line is "At my feeding time." The relationship with the mother was also based on his own with his mother, Wendy |

In the second verse, the first line is a word different. "Would you believe me when I do You?..." Shocking Blue, yes. |

Nirvana – School Lyrics

"You're in High School again" is the correct lyric. It is comparing High School to the Seattle Scene, seeing as the "working title" was The Seattle Scene. It is also compared to Sub Pop. |

Nirvana – Floyd the Barber Lyrics

In this song, the "homely fantasy" of Mayberry (Opposite of Aberdeen) is turned into a night mare. Kurt could have also drawn from a comic strip parody of the Andy Griffith show by Drew and John Friedman. It is a remix of a Dale Crover demo that was done with Cobain and Novoselic. |

Nirvana – Blew Lyrics

Like most songs on the Bleach Session, this was put together right before, so there is really no meaning. It could be to Aberdeen, family, or a girlfriend. |

Nirvana – Polly Lyrics

Here is the story. Kurt read in the newspaper about Gerald Friend who abducted a young girl at gun point in Tacoma tortured her with whips, razors, and a blowtorch and repeatedly raped her.She did escape and he was arrested. The incident where two "thugs" raped a girl while listening to Polly was referred to in the Liner Notes of Incesticide calling rapists' "two wastes of sperm and eggs." |

I agree on the lyrics. This was originally one of Kurt's "Fecal Matter" songs, it is the Bleach song with the longest history |

More just about Poneman and the "pressures he felt from him ....because he was being so judgmental about what we were recording." |

Nirvana – Sifting Lyrics

Kurt uses child-like rhymes and his own nonsense to portray his hatred of authority figures, with personal experiences added. |
