I feel like it's the thoughts of a person that's dying and they're on their way to the afterlife hoping to see somebody that they loved that died years ago. And then I feel like the part with the closing in I hope that you make it , closing in I hope you find your way in it's spoken by The one that has already died just kind of hoping or like a thought that they hope that they make it and that they find their way in to wherever they are the afterlife. That's just me but it's cool to see that someone else has an afterlifish interpretation as well 😁 |

I have always felt like, for me, this song is about someone who is dying, going into the afterlife and can't wait to see someone that passed away long ago. I know it isn't truly the meaning, but if you listen to it with that mindset, maybe you can hear what I mean. I love this song so much. I saw her in New Orleans probably 14 or 15 years ago or more maybe I don't even remember, but I remember she played the song and I cried |
