Pinback – Crutch Lyrics 1 month ago
I wonder if this is about losing his love in a car accident . Skulls collide and the bright white light. Head on collision. Rubber crutch is crutches when you break your leg, and he survived the crutch, but it’s also symbolic of her being his crutch, as alluded by past comment.

What does it for me is the next part.
She’s gone and he only has her memories, which he cherishes dearly. He believes and prays for the day they will be together again, no matter what divides them, heaven and earth.

Listened to this a lot 25 years ago when I my gf broke up with me and this was a song our group always liked, and loved this band. Then when my dad died this last Christmas I found the song again and gave it new meaning, as the memories and pictures were all I had.

@[bucky1337:49855] I wondered if it was about a cat named Sheena Bella, symbolic of all the things you alluded to. The cat was only 4 when she died. I figured the name was from the Seville sounding guitar riff. But I’m not right you’re right. Thanks for the input. 2024

Poison the Well – Without You and One Other I Am Nothing Lyrics 4 months ago
@[sirfoil:49474] I think it means that the pearls are symbolic of the underwater pearls or clams and swallowing. The pearls is symbolic of swallowing in the water. Surrounding the lives of the walking is probably symbolic of birds or vultures, eating dead bodies or the water engulfing someone and now they are dead.

Definitely, the song sounds like a story about somebody drowning. Swallow. The pearls is symbolic about swallowing the water and bubbles of voice is the person screaming under the water. Lack of oxygen. It all makes sense now I don’t really know what blue giant throats means, but I can imagine it has something to do with drowning, maybe it’s symbolic of life or maybe it’s really about somebody drowning, and hearing the last words of a loved one probably their parent saying that they will love them and be proud of them no matter what. I wish there was more commentary on this very underrated song that I came to love in the latter portions of my Poison the Well fandom , now it’s one of my favorite songs
