. I do agree with you on everything else though. But, I don't think it's quite so much sarcastic, as that he didn't fit in as he had tried to do. In the end he hoped that life would give him another try. I think it might be about

the last two responses sound right, I personally believe it has both sides to it. The music video had a lot of religous stuff in it; Kurt probably was doing a November Rain type thing (everybody needs someone), since a lot of people trust in religion, and maybe Kurt was trying to say we need to have faith in something, or rely on someone. |

The whole record tells a story ,in order, about a hroin user and Vietnam. Would is about going through and after rehab; the last part is wondering if everything would be ok. |

Chris had a drug problem after his parent's got divorced, but cleaned up quickly. Soungarden is not satanic, by the way. Speaking of which, Chris is not an atheist and not a Catholic, so what religion does he practice? This song is about the apocalypse, but every part of the song represents something. The solo has to do with the actual process of being pulled into the sun. Interesting note: according to the bible, including the Catholic bible, Satan calls himself the Lord of the Air. I have always believed that hell is in the sun due to this. Do Chris and the others share this belief? |

It always sounded to me that this song was about someone giving their life for you, but you don't want to lose them. I do agree with the other posts though. |
