Fleetwood Mac – Welcome To The Room...Sara Lyrics 3 years ago
Welcome to the room Sara is about Stevie nicks time in rehab. She went by the name of Sara, and the “of course it was a problem, sir” was her saying, like, of course my coke habit was a problem, now go git me some help! And fact: the “downstairs where the big old house is mine” and “upstairs where the stars laugh and shine” are both recycled lines from “blue lamp” which is a song on Stevie nicks debut album Bella Donna. Both wonderful songs!!!!

Stevie Nicks – Think About It Lyrics 3 years ago
This song was originally written around 1975 or 1976 for Christine Mcvie while she was getting a divorce. It was basically like think about your decision. Think about it before you go.

@[Clairvoyancewithoutannoyance:36180] also, she has actually stated in multiple interviews that she is not, in fact, a witch.

@[Clairvoyancewithoutannoyance:36037] interesting... but, Stevie said that everyone always just assumed she was a “witch” because 1) people in the 70s were [stupid] 2)because her first hit was Rhiannon, which was about a witch and 3) she dressed in black dresses. Everyone thought she had magical powers and is a witch, which isn’t true, but she embraced it. She actually even gave up wearing black for a while because people thought she was a witch.

Fleetwood Mac – The Chain Lyrics 3 years ago
My favorite part is the end where Stevie just goes “CHAAAAAIIIIIIIN KEEP US TOGETHER” over and over again. I LOVE IT. And I like john’s bass line, too cause it’s just awesome. Who doesn’t love a song with a Godzilla bass line?? also, fun fact: the chain is the only song that all five members of the band are credited to. They all wrote it!

@[realshitface:35952] are you high, dude???? Lindsey is a dude, and stevies real name is Stephanie, actually and she’s a girl. Plus, her marriage was not out of love, and even she admits it was stupid. They divorced only 3 months in. Bruh, you are clearly “reading between the lines”all wrong... (I couldn’t resist) but anyways your theory is all wrong. Sorry!

Fleetwood Mac – Rhiannon Lyrics 3 years ago
Stevie read a book called “triad” which featured a welsh witch by the name of Rhiannon. So, technically this song is about “an old welsh witch” as Stevie used to say at the beginning of her performance of Rhiannon in the 70s. It’s her “little haunted song” as she says in interviews and references to in Fleetwood Mac song “angel”. The chorus goes “and to those that I love like a ghost through a fog and the charmed hour and a haunted song” I think she’s talking about Rhiannon in that bit. I love this song, as it’s timeless and beautiful and open to all sorts of interpretations. Fun fact: this song is where the rumor that Stevie is a witch originated, and also that is also the story behind how she dresses and how her kinda witchy persona came to be. She just kind of assumed the personality, and people always expected that of her. Anyways, that’s just what I know!!

Tango is a cool album... some songs are fun to hear like “you and I” but some make you giggle like “family man” it’s just so silly... but some songs will absolutely put you in a state of awe like Caroline. It’s so cool

@[Outfielder:35776] they had not broken up in the past. They were two peas in a pod till the music drama started. Also: at 1977... Stevie hadn’t really even STARTED the coke. She went to rehab in like 85 DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much of this is incorrect...

This song was about the lightning director, curry grant, that Chris dated after her painful split with John McVie. She actually had to tell John that the song was about her dog to protect his fragile feelings. And then she wrote don’t stop to cheer him up.

@[Serasia:35773] so... it’s actually “all I ever wanted was to know that you were dreaming”. Also, a baby did die. The song was loosely based off of the abortion that Stevie Nicks had. The build your house part is about Don Henley, who “the singer” (aka Stevie nicks) was dating at the time.

@[mary101876:35763] the part I think reveals that Sara no longer has a lover is the part where it says “drowning in the sea of love where everyone would love to drowns but now it’s GONE.” See? The sea of love is gone

Fleetwood Mac – Sara Lyrics 3 years ago
I interpret this song as a song about a free woman, who was once deeply in love but found her freedom, and she is truly happy and at peace now. But, of course this song was ACTUALLY inspired by the child that Stevie was pregnant with at the time (Don Henley’s child, she had an abortion). A very interesting story... the original song was actually about 16 minutes but she had to cut it under seven, but again it was cut to under five minutes. A very powerful song, everything is perfect.
