Prine stated that his gig was in Northern Illinois in a small town of Woodstock, very near to the Wisconsin border. Lake Marie was a 20-minute drive from there. How many times have we suffered through someone giving us an account of what happened and have to wait for them to get the exact time or day correct? It doesn't matter, just go on with the story! In this case, it relates to when Prine lived in Chicago and would take short trips away from the big city to various lakes nearby with his family, and again later as a touring musician. This time the details matter. |
