I believe this is about someone who was is a bad relationship that ended with rejection. In a state of depression, he now believes everything in his life was a combination of wrong choices, misdeeds by others and/or bad luck. Depression colors your world grey and all that you see at times is your interpretation of your thoughts and feelings. When you are in this mindset, it feels as though you have always felt this way and nothing will ever be OK again. That's what leads to suicidal thoughts and actions. You have to remind yourself that your current state of mind will change. You will feel better tomorrow and there is hope, no matter how bad it feels in the moments of your depression.

@[misalignedstars:38421] after so many years of reading these comments, I'm finally going to dare myself to give an opinion. It's about a man who probably lost his wife to an affair, currently feeling sorry for his fate and like dominos falling one by one, he, in a state of depression, picks apart all aspects of his life and feels that everything hasn't turned out well. That's what depression does to one's mind. It clouds one's thinking with pessimism and despair and you start to believe that the way you feel now is all that you've felt, wrong and wronged.

Listening to this in 2021 midst the pandemic. I believe the song is about a man who is having a casual relationship with a woman who is unsure of herself and attempts to avoid physical intimacy. This man simply wants her to feel secure in herself, put the fears aside, and let herself give him the affection that he needs. He wants her to believe that he understands her painful insecurities and perhaps has similar pain. He just wants to share the time and supply her with the needed acceptance as well as be accepted himself.

WTF? I read some rude posts from some assholes putting down some guy's interpretation of the song. The commenters are ignorant pricks who can't spell, use poor grammer, stupid as fuck and left me hoping that they have not procreated (there are more than enough of these assholes in the world already). They are so jealous and insecure that they have to insult others' creativity, trying to compensate for their own lack of knowledge. Let's not make another place on the internet where cyber bullies can dominate the domain. I just have this to say about that. Listen you small, dickless morons, why don't you go fuck yourselves? Turn on your garbage disposal and put your hand in the drain. That may be the only way to control your impulses to type in your stupid insults.
