I come back to this song every so often in my life now. Whilst the author and song writer creates a vision that evokes meaning for them, for others,maybe you, maybe me, that vision can be a little different. I do feel the overwhelming sense of inadequacy in the face of nature, of Holocene, but I also relate it to personal relationship failures, a long lost love. This song takes me back 28 odd years with ease, evokes those emotions I never felt then, and promptly returns me back to present day at songs end. Very few artworks can do this for me. I am in awe. |
