Dermot Kennedy – Glory Lyrics 4 years ago
Could be way off, but I think this is about an affair with a married woman whose husband committed suicide once he found out.

And now the "author" is technically free of the guilt but still feels a little of that "this is wrong" adrenaline while he remains intimate with the woman.

That's why it's such a brilliant line. It means BOTH.

Nah.

He'd get wrecked if he saw her. But he'd also feel really empty if he didn't see her. It's impossible for him to go to LA without feeling something negative. If he sees her or if he doesn't, he'll get depressed. The lyrics are accurate and make total sense.

10 & 2 refer to both hands on the steering wheel. This means that he is not using his right hand to hold hers but is instead alone in the car. That's why it's a lonely sight.

I know this is a left field interpretation, but it fits like a glove.

Christ's poem to the Church, who is called His Bride in scripture. He's died every day, aching and hurting for his bride who has suffered this life. And he can redeem her at the cross, but he's more afraid than anyone's ever been.

And at the end, he knew it would work. He knew he'd find her on the other side of sacrifice. And he'll continue loving her for eternity.

Definitely sex. Only sex. A lot of songs talk about how having amazing sex is the closest thing to seeing God as anyone gets.

This is not a song you want to show your grandmother.

Lol idk. Loosen my lips, sway of your hips, and I see God when you come.

I think there's really only one way this song can go...
