Audioslave – Like a Stone Lyrics 2 years ago
@[tdlg0:38256] The book that he references has to be the Bible because a room by the freeway has to be a motel/hotel room and all of them have a Bible in the drawer by the bed.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Rhinoceros Lyrics 5 years ago
This is what my mind sees: This song is about sex/intimacy. Both emotional and physical intimacy involve a dance consisting of revealing and concealing (flirting, partial truths, foreplay etc.). Also, a rhino generally represents savagery. The act of sex is very primitive (when it's good) and we use our senses in a more animalistic way. In terms of June and planning a show, June represents to me weddings and proms which often have sex occurring at night (honeymoon). The line "I should go, see you in June, your way" is him saying to her, I am aroused right now but I should leave and do it the way you want to do it -planned on a special day in June. Which is more typical of the average girl (always planning events and wanting them to be memorable and special). As opposed to males who are more likely to succumb to passion in the moment (rhino's horn). I think Lees' comments about body parts and functions (balloons and trees etc.) are exactly on target.
BTW, it is very ironic to me that this song is about sex because so many people who comment here on song meanings say songs are about sex when they have nothing to do with sex. This frustrates me greatly. What a lesson that the first song to inspire me to make my first comment ever on line would be the type of response that generally makes me stop reading the comments. I welcome feedback.
