Al Stewart – Year Of The Cat Lyrics | 1 year ago |
I think this might be the best comment on SongMeanings. Once I read it I can never go back to hearing the song the same way. And I am grateful :) |

I agree Jungleland + Thunder Road are some of the best examples of his lyrics. Followed closely (maybe surpassed) by Racing in the Street. |
The Moody Blues – Question Lyrics | 6 years ago |
A beautiful, meaningful song for me. I have a question..no pun intended. :) This song contains a few of my favorite lines, but I often think about the passage: And when you stop and think about it You won't believe it's true That all the love you've been giving Has all been meant for you When I listen closely to the lyrics, I can clearly hear that the word is "giving", but I often think of these lines and replace it with "given". To me this changes the depth of the meaning of this line. As it is sung, it means that you've been pouring out love that was meant for you. (Which can be a noble act or one done out of ignorance..depending on your view of how "love" is replenished.) Using "given" on the other hand, it implies you've been handed a gift of love, but perhaps you don't feel worthy of it. Beautiful imagery in either case. What are your thoughts? |
