The satellite is a symbol of an objective view of what is going on around us on this earth and how things change. |

Maybe it means that being in love can be really difficult and scary, like standing on the edge of cliff, and it can even hurt you and break your heart (you have to bleed for it). The writer has opted to give up on love because it is so painful. He has lost many friends because at least one of the parties fell in love with the other and ended up getting his or her heart broken. He gave up on love and now only is interested in friendship, friends with benefits, or else promiscuous sex. Maybe the disease that the person he is singing to has is a broken heart and now that she is back "on the streets again, and because she is "semi-good-looking," he is interested in hooking up and is offering to be her "friend" (with benefits or just one-night stand). In other words, he gave up on love because it was so hard and is encouraging her to do the same. Finding and staying in love is not easy. That's not to say that it's not possible or worth the effort and time. Just a thought. |

I think this song is about boldly moving on after a relationship ends instead of wallowing in self pity and continuing to waste time thinking about the person and hoping to get back together. Sometimes it's best for you to move on. |
