Babyshambles – Lost Art of Murder Lyrics

It's hard for me not to think this is an answer song to Carl Barat's "Bang, Bang, you're Dead". But as I stated in my interpretation of that song, I am frequently wrong about what songs mean. |

It's difficult for me to believe that this song isn't at least partially about Pete Doherty, maybe not as blatant as Lennon's "How do you sleep" which is undeniably about Mccartney. I also think that Doherty's "Lost Art of murder" was an answer song to this one. I could be wrong, I frequently am about song meanings. |

I agree w/ many of the comments here. I think the line that sums up this song for me is: "If you're after getting the honey, heyThen you don't go killing all the bees". The greed of the corporations and the rich are literally killing the workers who provide them w/ their wealth. |

@[bobcatclay:15706] I don't think this song is about heroin, I think the expression "in my veins" is just another way of say in my blood. I've read where people think the Velvet Underground's song "Sweet Jane" is about heroin, it's not, it's about sweet Jane, the VU song "Heroin" is about heroin( Lou Reed is very subtle that way). |

Billy Bragg – Eisler on the Go Lyrics

I think this is about Hanns Eisler, an Austian composer who was either socialist or communist deported during the McCarthy era. "I don't know what I'll do" I believe refers to Woody wrestling w/ what he would do if forced to testify before the Housse of unAmerican activities. |

Happy Canada Day! Born and raised in Detroit, I have and still listen to a lot of Canadian radio, especially considering the anemic state of pathetic radio we have now, which only pander to their corporate gods. As a boy, the first place I heard Motown, and probably the first place Motown got airplay, was "CKLW", a Canadian AM station which used to chime in w/ "the motor city" after their call letters, even though they broadcast from Canada. I like this song, along w/ many of the other great artists like Sam Roberts, Tragically Hip, etc. |
