Trivium – The Ghost That's Haunting You Lyrics 8 years ago
This sounds like something someone would say while their wife is divorcing them.

Save, save yourself - The person telling them to go
Its killing me to hurt this way, and know its the only way - the pain the dude feels

What have I done? what have I become? - what did he do to piss her off?

You know I'll the Ghost that's Haunting you - He knows she'll "be sorry later"

@[The:12069] Piece You may have all of that stuff, but most of the people who go into the military DON'T have all of that. My dad didn't have anything except 2 kids, a wife that hated him and a broken down truck when he went into the army. He came out with more, sure, but at the expense of his BACK... he's now deemed disabled, and I have to help him along. I may be 15, but I'm a critical thinker, and I know that I can't always trust what I hear, and/or WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET... sure, you maybe another human being on the other side of the keyboard, but I honestly don't give a fuck about that. For all I know, this could be a massive Virtual Reality like The Matrix.

Long story short. PEOPLE, DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR, AND SOAD LEAVES THEIR LYRICS OPEN TO ANY INTEREPERTATION. THATS WHY THEY MAKE NO FUCKIN' SINCE IN THE FIRST PLACE...

@[bombomb:12061] Very good way of explaining it. Explained it to us like we where 5, and yet you still knew how to target teens/ grown-ups with it. Love it!! You captured my views of the song perfectly!!!

System of a Down – Chop Suey! Lyrics 8 years ago
Each time I hear this song I'm reminded of all the failures of my life. The one thing I think about the most when listening is suicide.

I honestly think the dude destroys himself and talks about others doing the same. Then he wants to commit suicide, but he's Christian. When he dies, he goes to Hell for suicide (defined as: MURDER of one self. Murder, according to the Bible, will send you to Hell,) thus the lines "Father, why have you forsaken me?"

I also think about how I try to destroy myself on a daily basis when I hear this.

@[thev:10521] I can see where this insight makes sense... but have you considered this to apply to addictions overall?

@[KosmicStorm:10440] This is more centered around a drug addiction. I'm sorry, but you could also commit suicide by drug overdose.... and he's not only possibly thinking about suicide, he could also have "slurred" thoughts as to what he should do with the needle in his hand. And the tapeworm would be the addiction. If you note how some people smoke, you can tell they have an addiction. Usually people's addiction's control them. There are very few people who can control an addiction, thus the lines "My tapeworm tells me what to do..." and "My tapeworm tells me where to go..." Then the line "Pull the tapeworm out of your ass" applies as you take control over your addiction. You know what? Fuck the whole drug and Euthanasia thing, its just talking about addiction as a whole, can anyone with "a tapeworm" can "pull it out of their ass..." HEY!!!

Slipknot – Snuff Lyrics 8 years ago
This song is about a guy who is depressed before a girl meets him, and how after the girl leaves it becomes even worse as he remembers their relationship.

Whenever I listen to this song, though, I'm usually remembering my past, and I'm using the song to mirror my depression for whoever is around. One example from is the song is "I can't destroy what isn't there." The dude from above can't destroy his past, and I can't destroy all the shit that happened to me. To me, this line reflects my helplessness. "Taking the death of hope to let you go," to me it means it took the death or the giving up to make my life better to try to "ditch" my past. "The air around me still feels like a cage."
this line for me is another line of helplessness, as I feel like I'm alone o deal with the emotion that I'm left with from my past.
"My smile was taken from me long ago,if I can change I hope I never know" this applies to both the author and myself, as this line to me translates to the fact that joy was ripped away from the person, and they don't know if they'll ever get it back.

Either way, its one of my favorites to listen to when I think about my past life... and I'm only 15.

@[Andus4n:9716] your interpretation makes since. its how humans are. this song deals with a little aspect of humanity most succumb to (depression.) the fact that the song sounds depressing expresses the authors depression. this is a great song, though. I listen to it when I think about my past, cause when I do it takes on a whole different meaning. try listening to call me by shinedown, and post what you think it means.
