@[Arianrhod:5898] I agree 100 % except that I like almost all Eagles songs. But this one is way more powerful than all the others. Probably because it is a lot like my own life. It is mainly from the simplistic start to the massive build-up. |

Basically I think that the video clip depicts the song exactly They have a break up because they do not show their true feelings towards each other. He had tried to convince her to get back with him but she refused. Probably because of pride. As a last ditch effort he lays it all down on the line: I ain't lookin' for prayers or pity I ain't comin' 'round searchin' for a crutch I just want someone to talk to... Tell me in a world without pity Do you think what I'm askin's too much? They had been separated for a while and it seems that he never really found anything out there that was remotely as kind or warm as her. But she doesn't want to be hurt by him again Oh girl that feeling of safety you prize Well it comes with a hard hard price You can't shut off the risk and pain Without losin' the love that remains The line: We're all riders on this train ... This is I think basically a filler. He needed a word that rhymed with remains He did that in one of his other songs too Dancing in the Dark "and they'll be carving you up alright" he wanted the great line in the song: "hey baby I'm just about starving tonight" but to find a line that would fit in the previous rhyming line was a bit far fetched (a bit off topic). But just like in the video he does convince her and she takes him back willingly. Great song great great video. |
