Tears for Fears – Everybody Wants to Rule the World Lyrics 5 years ago
@[Adamsmasher:29758] Couldn't agree more. It's a 'Survival of the fittest' kinda thing.

Coldplay – O Lyrics 8 years ago
This song has only recently came into my listening radar, and I wish I had known this sooner.

I do agree that this song is about parting with the inevitable part of life, that is death, and taking time to deal with the constant in our lives, that is change. However, it's not always the physical part of death that we're struggling with, as it is also about the struggle to embracing change, which I feel are what the 'flock of birds' referred to. Remember the saying 'birds of a feather flock together'? It's about meeting someone halfway through the change, and as fate would allow, through love, we shall meet again, and fly together towards the sunset. :) It might sound sad at first, but if you feel deeply, you will hear the glint of hope and optimism that resonates in you. This is what love is.

The actual 'O' song that follows thereafter completes this song, a beautiful closure. I've read somewhere that Chris Martin's daughter's voice was in it!

U2 – With or Without You Lyrics 8 years ago
This song always comes to mind whenever I am struggling, for some strange reason, on how to spend time with myself when my partner is not around, and I know, it's not a healthy dose of co-dependency we're talking about. It reminds me that as much as you give, you need to take some in for yourself lest you 'give yourself' away, like literally. It's a biological need, like a birthright that everyone entitles to. You need to feel complete yourself before anyone gets to it because nobody should be held accountable for your own happiness except you. And Bono's signature howl in the end... sums up my frustration: With (me) or Without You? It's intense.
