This song resonate inside me, as I have the luck to be in love with a girl that makes me happy and makes me feel like I felt when a I was a child... With that kind of awsomeness inside for everithing you are experiencing of the world... She is so special inside (and incidentally loves nature so much, and as a strong "child nature" that somehow she managed to preserve even in her thirties). For me, "flying over the mountains to save my solar gain/soul again" refer to the struggle of live, accept and them overcome the feelings that you experience when you lose someone you love deeply, someone really special and unique for you life. It's the struggle of feeling that kind of pain and then letting it go so that it will not "kill" you. It's the inner desire of not let yourself surrender to the pain and the despair, the desire to resist the temptation of falling into depression, thus giving up on your dreams and ceasing to really live your life.
