This song is amazing. Just gotta say. It reminds me of myself, and other people can probably agree, when I think i am not good enough for someone, when i got out with them. As soon as i heard this, i almost cried, because it reminded me, so clearly of my life, my girlfriend, and how little i think of myself... not trying to sound like a martyr guys. i know people's lives are much worse. |

| @[Despize:4750] yeah, they actually did say they read it, and if you listen to the last album (in 2015 i mean) you will see that it is influenced by Edgar Allen Poe's poem, majorly. even noting, "The author lost his way again and he forgot to write the end", which means closely resembles what happened with Edgar Allen Poe's album. he usually wrote what influenced, are started his poems, with this one, he died before he could. The way he died has not actually, to this day, been properly noted. Which means it could have been any form of death. Suicide, assassination, etc. | |

| My brother actually told me that this song was about someone who was really close to the lead singer, who died from cancer. This whole album is actually about someone who is close to a member of the band, and they have struggled to survive the trivial ordeals that depression holds. I personally love Breaking Benjamin, for the fact that my best friend's mum died from cancer, and even though it wasn't my mother, it still took a massive toll on my life. | |

This is definitely a song about someone who can't stand life not turning out for him/her. The whole album is about that, for example if you listen to the song, in this album, "Belong", you will find that it is about a person who just wants to 'Belong' (as quoted from the song). This whole album has a very strong impression on me, as i have gone through this stage of life, and i almost took my own life about 4 times. i am only fourteen years old. And i almost committed suicide.... It was very hard for me to write that as many people have teased me for this... I only write comments on songs, and i don't want criticism. Hope you guys agree with me on the meaning of the song :) |

I believe that this song (this whole album (the whole band)) strongly represents how war is just a veil covering your face... When you look at it, very closely, the only reason these terrorist groups are attacking now, and at the same time, is because we have stopped them from practicing their religions. We have forced them to turn back to their war-torn country, because they don't believe in the same religion as us. We have been so stubborn, thinking that Christianity/Catholicism is the superior religion, and us thinking that the white man is, "the dominant race". It angers me to think that there is so much diversity between races. I strongly believe this song is about America, however I am Australian. The Australian Government is very much so like the American Government. Stubborn, Selfish and Dominant. Screw Government. Let everyone else have a say! |

@[bradley906:4054] i completely agree with you. i am also a fourteen year old, but when you wrote the post, i was only 7 years old. The whole meaning behind Rise Against is all about how corrupt the American Government is, and how they don't care if you die or live. I am not trying to be offensive, but this is what i believe, and i have read many other comments that say the same thing as me. If you don't believe me, listen to, Survivor Guilt or Kotov Syndrome. Those two songs send an extremely strong message to me about how the American Government is stubborn, and selfish. People only get into Government, for money and fame. May God have mercy on you, Soldier, and may you come home safely and healthy... |
