Imagine Dragons – Radioactive Lyrics 9 years ago
@[JimWalshJ:1722] You're 99% right, even Reynolds explained that the song is meant to evoke a feeling of "empowering" - and it does. But I would like to add a little "apocalypse" feel if you let me: notice how the uses words like Chemicals, Rust, BUS, Paint, Revolution, etc. All these words describe very clearly a post-apocalyptic decaying world, full of zombies if you wish.

deadmau5 – The Veldt (feat. Chris James) Lyrics 9 years ago
@[kinkylemons:1721] Disturbing?... yes and no. A literal interpretation would be that the parents are dead and their children murdered them. But please remember that the nursery is not real but a virtual reality room. Even though the book hints that the lions are real... they are not. It's just an "artistic license" by Ray to instill fear into us (I believe).

To me, the true moral of the story is that the children chose the nursery over their parents, i.e. technology can be dangerous if left alone. "Rise of the machines", if you will.

However... I will admit that the sole fact of "hinting" that the children are murderers crossed my mind, and it IS truly disturbing indeed.

Sia – Chandelier Lyrics 9 years ago
@[robertaler:1720] Totally agree, but I will add a small twist to your story: the entire night never happened, it's all in her mind. A bit of a psycho call if you wish, but the song still makes perfect sense to me; she's struggling with reality the way it is/it should be.

Marina and the Diamonds – Oh No! Lyrics 9 years ago
@[echolark:1713] wow... I believe you are reading too much in between the lines man. I hiiiiiighly doubt there are two confronted voices, but yours is a cute interpretation though. At any rate, I won't write a damned essay; our comments are 5 years apart :P

Marina and the Diamonds – Oh No! Lyrics 9 years ago
@[secretlyinsane:1712] Bingo. From someone who's been right there I can feel your words are right behind the lyrics. Essentially, the song describes a fake personality that was probably triggered by her environment (like a bad break up, society, or high expectations). Now she's forcing herself to act in a way she is not. Even though the song is uplifting, it foreshadows an unhappy ending.
