As a BIG Marillion fan since a child (cheers Dad) I'd rate this one way up there. I'm really not keen on the 'I want to be someone, someone would want to be' line because it's self pitying and looking for approval from others, but the rest of the lyrics are haunting especially the echoing of certain words. - Wendy e, e, e, e, e, darling, ing, ing, ing, ing, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tock, etc.
When the lyric echoing/fade out kicks in at the same time as the instrumental climax....well....what can I say? |

Don't get me wrong I really like this song and most of their work but you have to laugh at "cos you said the brains I had went to my head" ...sorry, but what brains exactly?
Lovely faces, great voices, but absolutely nothing going on between the ears with either of them. If you want intelligent, educated, English artists listen to Radiohead's stuff. |

Great song and I do like Neil and Liam but there's never any real depth or intelligence behind their lyrics. Neither of them have any education behind them and before they were famous spent most of their working life on the dole!
Neither of them have a degree and even now, when they could work towards one (it's never too late) both choose not to.
I know if I were to meet them I'd be bored shitless within about 20 minutes. :-( |
