Start thinking of this song as a relationship between the left and right brain. look within yourself and realize who the two participants are in your inner conversation. Everyone has them, most have trouble communicating because they are not aware of the separate parts. With awareness come understanding, and with understanding comes growth and communication. for anyone who has done any self exploration, this would make sense.
Never leave yourself unknown, even if you feel like you know yourself, dig deeper. its not enough to believe you know yourself, you have to feel it in your heart. |

Try thinking about it from the standpoint of you being disconnected from yourself. Every day we filter so much information through our frontal cortex that, if left unchecked, can lead to non-expression. Realize that this can happen on a conscious level if an insecurity or doubt finds its way into your thoughts. We are in a constant conversation with ourselves. Start to pay attention to who is speaking and who is listening. I find that the creative mind speaks first but the thinking mind is what filters it before it comes out of our mouths. In an insecure person, the creative mind says something that could be potentially beneficial to the self, but the fear in their understanding of society inhibits the true raw self to be expressed. The conversation with the self is a conversation between two minds. They have a relationship, they are the supposed lovers.
