| I interpret this song as being about someone whose on the outside. He observes the daily goings on and whilst everyone goes on with their lives, they ignore the bare facts like the fact we're all dying the minute we're born. The ultimate goal in life is to die and people are blissfully ignorant to this. These thoughts have blighted any of the possible beauty that may be in the world and now all he sees are the atrocities. He's telling other people to 'save themselves' and to stop the illusion that they seem to be under before they are completely consumed by it. | |

I think this song is about someone who is reliving a relationship. 'Still I always, look up to the sky. Pray before the dawn' Remembering the better moments of the relationship and hoping even praying that it will go back to that. 'Cause they fly always. Sometimes they arrive Sometimes they are gone' This could symbolise that the people he loves are always out of reach and when they arrive it is sweet but the pain returns when they are gone. 'Fly on' This is a message telling his other half to move on. Be free and find something better than what they had. 'Maybe one day I'll fly next to you' This, I think means that one day he'll move on too and they'll both be able to look back on it not as a lesson learned but as a fond memory. This is one of my favourites from the album. It's beautiful and I listen to it on repeat. Cannot fault it at all. Beautiful. |

Some people don't understand how beautiful this album is. Only true fans can understand why this album is as it is. I personally am in love with it. A sky full of stars was the lift in the album. It is very much a story and this is the high point of it. This song is about something that is so beautiful but dangerous. It's something that brings you so much joy and curiosity but it might harm you. It's about someone that is a heavenly view, someone who you want to be with. You don't care if they hurt you because the happiness you feel when you're with them squandered any pain that comes with it. I love this song and the album. Very intimate and raw. And to all those fans who say 'they want the old Coldplay back' these are people who don't like when a band develops and grows into something even better than before. Coldplay are still Coldplay no matter what. Only true fans will stick by them and follow them through every change and every time they evolve. |

What a beautiful lyric 'Cause I'll always remember you the same Oh eyes like wildflowers oh with your demons of change' The simplicity yet the power of the juxtaposition of the statement. I love this song. I have it on repeat to lull me to sleep. Gets me through my toughest times. Reminds me to keep my head up. I think by the 'keep your hair long' lyric, it means don't change yourself. Don't try to heal yourself by cutting off your hair or shedding your old skin. That's what I think. |

I see it as the man looking back on all the things that he's done and looking at himself and realising that what he did to the girl is hard or impossible to fix. He's sees that she gave up everything but he still wanted more. I really love this song whatever the meaning. |
