Pixies – Dead Lyrics

The authorship of this song (here and on Pandora) is attributed entirely to a Brit Folkie named Stephen Fretwell. The Stephen Fretwell page on Wikipedia makes no mention of this song. This song, as I'm sure everyone can attest, sounds entirely like a Pixies creation. Hmmm.... |

Gorillaz – Empire Ants Lyrics

I submitted Little Dragon's second verse, which is not displayed above:
Soothe like a wave
In plastic fall
Closing in on the moon
From where we are
The first line could be "Soar like a whale" which makes sense with the video.
And it's "polyphonic prayer is here" not "polyphonic prarie's here" |

The Replacements – Swingin' Party Lyrics

Soramke, I meant her general fan base is very young, me being an exception. The fact that 'tween' means in between years is not exactly top secret information. I think it is great that Lorde is introducing songs like Swinging Party to a younger group of listeners. |

David Bowie – Outside Lyrics

If the 90's was David's more-or-less Lost Decade (Little Wonder, anyone?), the album Outside is a big exception. It's one of the top 20 Concept Albums of all time. Certainly some sort of dystopia is presented. And outside is David's best 90's composition - that and Baby Universal. |

Sting – We Work The Black Seam Lyrics

It's amazing that the anti-Thatcher sentiment spawned such a vast music movement, but very little happened here in the USA during the parallel Reagan era, which was just as destructive, if not more so. Who would have ever thought that Johnny's "There's no future in England's dreaming," would echo for decades afterwards. |
