This song means so much to me. The time it came into my life was perfect. I think it is pretty easy to understand what this song means, but songs can literally mean anything you want it to mean. I have imagined a different scene then what I think the lyrics are saying.
I picture a coliseum and a fight. Half of the people in the stands are people who support me and love me. The other half are positive thoughts I have about myself, nice things people said to me for support, and my heart. On the ground, is my body and soul fighting against my demons. The good news is I have support all in the stands, and I am not alone. The bad news is, I still have fears, doubts, and negative thoughts telling me I can't. My soul is smart and it listens to the crowd of support and love.
To me, this song is about fighting the good fight every moment. Meaning that we should fight for the good in every battle, no matter how small. For example, if I made a mistake at work, instead of blaming it on someone else and giving into the negative feelings and thoughts, take responsibility and make the situation right. It is kind of like that saying, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Don't back down, fight for you! You might have a million thought telling you that you can't do that, that you aren't good enough, that you are worthless. Get up and fight through it!

Sometimes success is just getting out of bed. Sometimes the battle is in our heads, and that is mainly how I see this song's meaning. I think it is a battle from within. |

This song is awesome, I am so currently obsessed with it right now. I think this song can be directed at anything that threatens you or makes you really angry. Such a dark and angry song, but it builds into doing something about it. To me, this song represents the anger I have towards my ADHD. I am so pissed off right now. I can't do school, I feel like a failure. I just want to scream so loud and blast this song so everyone can hear it. I am absolutely livid right now!!!! |

This song is fantastic, I think anyone can relate to these lyrics! To me it is about inner strength, confidence and being yourself. The world WILL force you into many different directions, but YOU MUST FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH. No one knows this better then you! Don't think about the past, the future, and the mistakes you made. You can learn from all this, and let things be, let it all happen.

I think there is always an end to anything (the other side). Good or Bad, always an other side. I wish other people have commented on this song, can't believe I am the first one. I wanted to here what other people had to say about this! I kind of get the sense that this song is about disappointment, and not getting your so called "time to shine". Everyone wants to hit that period were all the hard work pays off and you can enjoy yourself. This song I think is about when you worked real hard, went through a lot and found that you are oddly okay, but alone. The alone part is the key, I think. The fear and worry that you will not make it, or that you will make it alone.
I'm not sure how to feel with this song! The music its self is awesome! I love the chorus! Not sure if the lyrics make me feel like I am not alone, happy, sad, upset, tired. Not sure! I like the feeling I get... tho, odd, I like it. I want to understand this song better! |

I've gotten stuck and lost that I don't even see this song, how I know I am suppose to see it. I realize this song should be about heartache and love, it really is but I see it as a mental illness. I see it as the character is so stuck and lost. They cannot think. They need the disease. It is weird but they need the disease because it is the only thing they can blame and UNDERSTAND. They crave it so much, but it always brings pain. Always running from it but they need it. |

The best advise I have every gotten from a person was to be yourself... Be Yourself. Something like this sounds so simple and almost meaningless, but REALLY think about it for a minute! ... No one can live YOUR life, YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE! "To be yourself is all that you can do" I didn't just quote the song to be clever, I quoted it because it is the beautiful truth! I really hope everyone learns and sees how wonderful those two words are! This song to me, is just saying to be yourself. Those two words care a lot of weight. This is actually a pretty easy song for me to understand, but I totally get where your coming from. You think you know the song meaning, but you don't know for sure. Honestly, it doesn't matter, what ever the song means to you, is all that matters. For me to tell you what it means, would be dumb. But I could tell you what it means to me. Music is soooooooo beautiful, because songs can mean so many things.
TO ME the song is about my ADHD, and Anxiety. But it could EASILY be connected to depression, or even just plain life! |

Life is a beautiful letdown, there is so much pain in this world, I literally could cry right now. BUT in all this there is a higher power, a higher power that loves you, me, everyone! Gosh this song!!! I tell ya!!! I am 20 now, and I still love it! I don't remember when I fell in love with that song, but maybe about 10 years ago it happened. But I was a kid back then, and I like the song because of the music. My brother and I used to sing "Juice box hero" It was so fun! Awesome song, BUT NOW, I REALLY LOVE it!!! It is a song about dreams, music, love, and passion! It really is a beautiful song, the way it is. That boy, is so moved by that music, that he buys a cheap beat up guitar, and him and the guitar know each other, and he plays his heart out. Maybe he had the gift of learning it, or maybe he had to work painfully hard at it (like me, maybe had a learning disability), but loved the music so much that he forced himself to practice. Anyway, no matter what he worked hard to play, and follow his heart! He simply followed his dream! Second verse is touching, when he remembers that day in verse one! I just can't stop feeling this song, so good!!!! Reminds me of shooting star by Bad Company, but I think this one is better!!! |

This song was not on my ipod for the longest time, and then I decided to put the whole cd on, and so one day I was in my car driving to school, and it came on, and the song just touched me so hard, and it felt so good! So now today, I looked at the lyrics, and was singing the song in my head, and then I got curious about what people were saying. This was the first one I saw, and it made me so extremely happy! I see this song as a song telling you to never give up, to keep riding through the storm! Pain is part of life, if you don't feel pain then you can't be winning! No pain, no gain! We will learn from the pain! One minute you will feel good, and the next second something of someone will bring you down (the smack down). The chorus to me says that the singer isn't saying there won't be a longer road, one that makes you question giving up! Don't give up, and your heart will know what to do! |

This song is beautiful in all areas, the music and the words, and the meaning. The music matches so well, like the character is stuck, time going fast and going slow. It almost reminds me of a machine that keeps running. The song provokes feelings that are good, and feelings that are painful. The song makes me anxious, yet hopeful, sad, but excited. The music creates these feelings all by itself, and then the words create the same feelings all by itself. So much feeling!!! This song also provokes day dreams, putting me in a place that is much like a haunted house. The house is empty, and lonely, but at the same time safe and inviting. |

I also feel the same way about it!!! I love the calm feeling from this, and if a non believer is listening to it, they can also interpret it different. But I strongly feel for us Christians it is to us, from God and/or Jesus! I listen to it, after work, or after school in my car, I picture Jesus sitting in the passenger seat. This song was kind of confusing to me. I really like the way you put it! I also agree with you now. I was kind of looking at it too open-mindedly. I sort of saw it as a attack on the outcasts, and the ones always last in line. What you say I think works greatly with ADHD, at least for me. I have struggled so hard with it. But like you said, but I worked at it and I am here to tell you about it. But ADHD, will affect you in so many ways. I have a hard time socially, with directions, with learning, with listening. People aren't patient, they can be very mean. It wasn't too long ago when I was very paranoid about people and other things. Let me tell you and anyone else who reads this, my life has parts that just really really suck. But there is ALWAYS HOPE!!! My problems helped me to become a better and stronger person too. "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about, be kind. ALWAYS!!!" I believe you can do anything you put your mind to! I will always have ADHD, but that is my problem, but it is my job to help people, and support them so they can feel loved, wanted, and respected! Teach them how to kind deal with it, even though sometimes you will have it for your life. |
