better than you, I agree totally. This is my favourite song on St. Anger, because of the meaning. I've been known to hang shit because of the whole Ja Rule thing, but damn these people screaming "sellouts!" are starting to piss me off big time. |

It's not over rated to me, that's because I don't see it as some song with deep meaning. There are better Zeppelin songs, but it's still great. |

I always thought the idea of freedom of speach was so people could voice their opinions, which is all I did. People said they could relate to the songs, I said everyone can.

I just saw something in this song I hadn't seen before. The way I see it, it's about a fight with someone you care about. Sure it sucks at the time, but you'll both get over it, life will go on and it'll be all good again.
"we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion" - quite simply the fight hurts, but you will both go on together.
That's just my view of it, I'm not really a spiritual person so I'm limited to really basic meanings :P |

LOL you people are damn funny. Firstly, you can relate to this song, like everyone else can, because it's so bloody simple and has such a general meaning. Yoyu can relate to it? WHOOPDIE FUCKING DOO!! I can too. And I bet everyone I know can. Secondly, if you guys reckon Linkin Park are the most talented band ever, you have serious problems. If you want lyrical genius, go listen to Tool. But I really doubt any of you people would understand a single Tool song. They involve thought to figure out. I could figure Linkin Park lyrics out in my sleep. Shit, I could list so many better bands lyrically it's not funny. Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Pantera, Led Zeppelin, oh god where do I stop? And finally, you say Chester is teh best single ever? Oh god have you heard anything but Limp Bizkit, Korn, BSB and Britney? I somewhat doubt it. I'm not even going to bother lister better voices than is, shit the Sex Pistols had better vocals. One of the most powerful songs I know.
To me it's sad and uplifting at the same time. I never really paid attention to it until my gf pointed it out to me a few months back, since then it remind me of her.
Through bad times it makes me realise the stupid things I can say to her, I'm likely to blow it over nothing. But listening to Iris kinda wakes me up to everything, stops me from saying what ever is in my head, not my heart. Cried over it a few times in those situations.
And in good times (like now), it just reminds me of how much I love her and how much she loves me. And cried over it a few times in those situations too. |
