Angels and Airwaves – Hallucinations Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This is one of my favourite songs of all times. The way I interpret the lyrics is that it's about a guy who has feelings for someone but thinks it's never going to happen. However, he seems to be getting signs of the other person that they're interested in him and he can't believe it. "And you look real close Cross the lines and the roads It is there to decode What you thought was a ghost" He's analysing the situation here and realising that the other person is interested but they're hiding it hence where he has to look closely. He refers to their feelings for him as a ghost because he never believed they existed until now. "Or a spark to explode It's the start of the show It's the part you love the most When your heart will implode within" He's realising that this may happen. This realisation could be the start of their relationship and obviously he loves this feeling. "As the wind floats home Carry us back to shore And up the mountainous coast Where the sun starts to glow" Tom is saying here that the relationship won't be easy, but overcoming any problems will result in hope and a haven for them to be in "where the sun starts to glow" "From our head to our toes To the stars that we know And with you as my host It will keep us afloat again" Here it's like once they've reached that point there's no ending their love for each other. They'll keep each other going until they die. "The silence is taxing I'm waiting for something There's images of love and war And everything's here to explore" Here Tom is saying how difficult it is to make the first move and get the ball rolling. Images and love and war refers to the turmoil this guy is feeling inside, his feelings are both positive but he still fears the worst. At the same time he wants to explore the possibility of this relationship As for the chorus, I personally love it. "Do you believe in hallucinations, silly dreams or imaginations" In his head this is just a silly dream, a hullucination. "Don't go away cause I feel you this time Don't go away cause I need you there this time" He knows he needs this person, he feels it happening and doesn't want this feeling to ever end. Could be true love? "Do you believe in hallucinations, any dream or it's revelation" He is believing that his dream is coming true, and he's suprised by it. "Don't go away cause I need you there this time Don't go away cause I'm making you all mine" The repeat of the "I need you there" shows his desperation for this to happen. He wants to make the person all his so no one else can have them. |
Icona Pop – I Love It Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Caroline Pop was quoted as saying the meaning to the song was "It’s about when you’re tired of being sad. You wake up and you say “f*** it” and then you go and just try to break free from all that" Love this song, so simple yet the meaning is so effective and easily relatable too. |
