This sounds like a guy who is depressed after a bad breakup. He's just feeling bad for himself right now. The chorus sounds like a girl who likes him and or is trying to help, and he knows she is nice but is saying he can't really deal with it all yet. |

I agree that this is about being held down by a job and stress, "All you want's one more Saturday". But how come no one has mentioned that she is also being in a bad relationship? A guy is also holding her back but she can't really see it, "You know he's holding you down/With the tips of his fingers just the same". He also says he wants her to find a perfect guy for her to love, and that "You know, you'd trade your life for any ordinary Joe". I don't think this means trading her life for a better, ordinary one, but trading her life with a more normal guy who can love her more--anyone besides who she is with. |

The chorus is talking about how always gets their way, through whatever violent means they get it through. But all the anchor people on the news just tells us about how we got our way. They have no idea what the heck they are talking about (La di da di da)
