Rainbow – Temple of the King Lyrics 6 years ago
I think the song is about a wayward young man trying to make sense of life and death. The bell rings signalling that one is about to die. He's searching for answers. He witnesses an old man in the throes of death and is frightened by his own mortality, but the old man sings for heaven to take him, and at dawn he begins to understand that death is inevitable and not to be feared, because a new life awaits. The bell rings again and this time it's for him, and he's seeing and feeling what the old man did, but is unafraid and lets go of life willingly. He then is far from the circle of life at the edge of the world, hoping for heaven and thinking about all he's heard of it. He regains consciousness and tells everyone not to fear death, because he has seen that a new life awaits.

Rainbow – The Temple Of The King Lyrics 6 years ago
I think the song is about a young man trying to make sense of death. The great black bell rings, warning of an impending death. He studies an old man begging for heaven as his life is coming to an end. The old man dies, and the young man touches him with a trembling hand, and day breaks, shining on him as he begins to understand that death is inevitable and not to be feared.

The next time he hears the bell, it symbolizes that he (the one) is near death himself. He's seeing and feeling how it felt to be that old man he witnessed dying. He accepts his death willingly and waves goodbye without fear as he's beginning to lose consciousness whilst thinking about what awaits him and all he's heard about the after life. Just then he espies the old man who begged for heaven and is comforted. He dies with a look of joy in his eyes, and those who follow after him in death, he gives welcome to, as the old man did for him, and then they too know of the temple and the king.

Pink Floyd – Pigs (Three Different Ones) Lyrics 11 years ago
* The second part upon further reflection is about the police. Hot stuff with a hat pin, and good fun with a hand gun. They like the feel of steel. Though Roger hated Thatcher, what I talked about happened a bit later. Roger had some words for her in the Final Cut. The fact that he said you fucked up old hag made me think thatcher. lol

Three different pigs. The first are the rank and file politicians. They're just puppets, well heeled big wheels. They're just worried about staying on the gravy train. They put their hands on their hearts, as to say that they really care about the people, but in reality they only care about themselves.

The second is about Margaret Thatcher. Roger hated her for going into the Battle of Falklands and selling off public service sectors in the much opposed switch to privatization. So, he basically said she's a cold, cruel, crazy, fucked up old hag.

The third is about Mary Whitehouse. She was an anti-modern media conservative who pushed to censor immoral behavior of any sort on various media platforms, mainly television. Roger is saying that she's wrong to keep the feelings of the people off the street, that is to say, censor personal expression due to her selfish opinion that everyone should live up to and uphold her own moral standards. Roger says she's all tight lips and cold feet, asks if she feels abused, and tells her she has to stem the evil tide and keep it all on the inside. Basically, he's saying you have your opinion and the people have theirs, no one is forcing you to watch it or listen to it, so you're not being abused unless you choose to watch or listen.

Haha, charade you are.. basically these people are all frauds. Frauds serving their own interests and those above them, while feigning love and support for the people.
