@[ChrisWilmott:11025] where in this song does it talk about anyones "deathbed"? you've really took this one to a level that might be more befitting to your own personal experience, this song is about himself and for the few who might can relate... his life was such a peculiar one as a drifter/vagabond and a frequent buyer of prostitutes, he really just is writing about how he really has died inside and has no more joy and bitterly recalls the last meeting with his father.... love yourself bro, do not deny your ambitions, SEEK YE FIRST the Kingdom of God |

I think that's kinda the point she's making, life can never be truly sweet, The Verve called it a "Bittersweet Symphony" |

it seems about a prostitute or hookers life... he makes mentions thru many of his songs about "sluts/hookers/prostitues", I think he is imagining how she must feel
-huntsman or player(in the old days"vikings"/woodsmen, etc went for prositutes as did the men of 60's and 70's, "players" etc
-con, convince the mirror- obviously these women are cons and also convince the mirror daily that what they do is ok and they look good enough to feel confidence
-most use "substances" cocaine/amphetamines, etc, you could only IMAGINE what hooker street life might have been in late 60's, in detroit.
-think of the repeition it must be to tell different men daily the same thing, or act out in sex, and would "whisper to" all the others |
