I believe the song is about the trials and tribulations of life and it's impact on a relationship. It does not have to pertain to a specific relationship. The song confronts how emotional pain can have a detrimental impact on our lives but no matter what love will conquer all. "Though the truth may vary..." assures us all that no matter what happens we will make it through to the end. |

I believe this song is confronting depression and anxiety. Everyone goes through pain and suffering. Many feel as though they have hit rock bottom and it will never get better. The lyrics attempt to encourage those who feel as though they have lost all hope, to continue to keep living and not be a prisoner to the pain and suffering. ("I know there is pain. Why do you lock yourself up in these chains?"). I find the song to be quite moving and uplifting especially for those who have been or are currently in a state of depression. The song emphasizes the importance of persevering in spite of obstacles and not let the situation consume you. Everything will be alright in the end. ("Hold on for one more day.
