Perhaps my own little theory but during this song doesn't it sound there is a breathing apparatus or something during when the guitar motif is being played, What i believe is that he does try and kill himself but he survives his attempt but is rendered in a coma. The lyrics we hear are the doctors trying to fix him and the screaming is Mr Self Destruct in his own mind realizing that he fucked up and made a mistake. He is being dragged down into his own personal hell by his own demons. The final song Hurt is perhaps him in his final moments looking from his perspective as he realizes Piggy (the girl who left him) is visiting him in the Hospital but he realizes that he can't be with her again and finally let's go with the screeching noise being almost like a flatline sound on a Heart Rate Monitor |
