If we take a good look here it s about an Evil Angel that is acting as a Good Angel, deceiving the believers, or it could be about Death, sometimes known as the Angel of Death or an Evil Angel, or a Dark Angel. We can see that there s a believer that has gotten cancer from the angel, and in it s agony he is begging the Angel to end his suffering and take his life. This song at first I wasn t sure what to make of it, and only recently I have found a good answer after noticing someone dear and close to me struggling with cancer for 2 years. At first the person has hope of battling it, and as we can see in the first verse, where the angel is the answer of death and spreading the caner and the belief that we as the humans can fight it. Hold it together, birds of a feather Nothing but lies and crooked wings I have the answer, spreading the cancer You are the faith inside me No, don t Leave me to die here Help me survive here Alone, don t remember, remember Next we can can see more about the patient, that he is a believer and at times he seems to be forgotten of his deities, of his God but he keeps begging the Angel to help him get over this. This song is pretty close to my heart and takes me on a memory trip, since the person that I had lost was my father, as in this song, at first he fought and slowly he was hopping to die then to suffer more. This song could be more then cancer and just the moments before a dying man and his imaginary talk with the Evil Angel, Death, begging for mercy and a swift death, and in the end getting it and not knowing what is happening exactly. What are you people talking about? It has no other meaning then a broken love... It has no political meaning, no mother-nature struggle no nothin'... This song is just about a guy that thinks he got over a relationship, and can't remember stuffs about the girl... you can see that in the first verse, that he realize that he still loves her. You can also notice their conversation in the chorus which is probably the break point of the relation. She cares for him and doesn't want for him to do something bad to himself, and he is just broken inside and takes the break-up quite bad... The only thing you can probably notice from the behavior if you actually wish to notice something special about RA is that they portrayed a person that suffers from a personality disorder since he has a self-destruct nature, and emotional instability. I don't understand where on earth do you guys picture he's talking to mother nature or Bush/Obama or w/e political thing you guys have in your head... This is simple a love story... And it's quite a good one. |

God is over-rated. This song is about wars and friendship. This song is about people that kill each other, about people that feel alone because of lack of belief in the other man... Even if the singer might have wanted to sing about a god from some mythology he didn't do it properly. |

I loved reading with most of the portal related comments, since they do have a great point of view, considering the song played in Portal, but without the game what would this song be? I think this song is about someone that is suffering from depression and wants to commit suicide, I won't go into details, but the title "Exile Vilify" would mean to get into exile and write desperately about it. It could be that the singer is actually reaching out to those that suffer from depression, since depressed people usually tends to exile himself from the rest of the world, and this message in particular could be to someone that has bad luck in his love life. |

You're full of crap today, aren't you? Freedom means free choice but believing a god that is all knowing means believing in a destiny not a free will, free will is just some biblical bullshit. Deluge means The Flood but it could also be a metaphor for a "waterfall of tears" ? "Don't dream it's over while you're travelling with me" can easily mean I'm Satan and i will destroy your dreams if you believe in me? But while this is not a religious song, this can mean that if you stay in this relationship you're going to die a sad man. "Possession and struggle with the world" ... Hmm I can't seem for sure where you have got this quote out of... While this is totally out of context, it can mean that a lot of people fight the world to have possession, and have a subcontext of them forever be miserable. As a conclusion your analytical analyzation of a song is totally "kaput". It's okay to be brainwashed and addicted to your God, but not all songs have religious connotations. «Crowded House lead singer Neil Finn wrote this song.
