Yes, very much a happy song! While the wife is in mourning, she feels a burden to carry her husband's memory on. She is very sad and probably feeling guilty about letting go, but then she hear's her husbands voice in past memories and feels obligated to hold on. Seems like she is having dreams about her husband on a journey through purgatory or some middle ground afterlife and trying to reach his resting place. She feels if she lets go he will be forgotten and unable to complete his final journey, so she carries on protecting him untill his (and her own) peace is met. Their love is a vessel that while carry them safely to their final destination, no matter what the truth holds. Maybe she feels if she forgets, then her love will be lost and he will not make it safely and be unable to rest. Notice in the video she remembers he's dead then tells him to go away, but then on the same note a monster appears to harm him and she tells him to wait. She's conflicted on what she's supposed to do, so she holds on. She is bringing color to his black and white world, vanquishing or transforming the monsters with light. In the end she sees that theses monsters are not monsters anymore and seem more godlike and full of light. This may be the end of the journey and she has come to peace with her husbands death, she has fought off the demons threatning him and now they can both rest. Thier love has kept them safe.

The song is deffinately resentful. He's on a rant and doesn't let up untill he finds his peace on the piano. And my friend, if you read this do realize you have a gift. I hate the term ADD. I think it's generic term for WTF is wrong with this kid. Blame is to blame ;) Why would a racing mind be a disorder? So you think faster than other people and you store more, just don't let all that info get mixed up. Ever read a chapter in a book and realize you were in lala land the whole time and don't remember what you just read. You need to organize that hard drive! (That chapter's still in there) Unfortunately ignorance is bliss, so the wieght never really leaves your shoulders. I self medicated and that only delayed the pressure, causing even more problems., Get plenty of excersize and set aside some time to do "nothing." Meditation, prayer, whatever, take time to actively collect your thoughts. Journals never hurt, but if your like me it won't be accurate ;) Pretty soon you'll see the light in the darkness

I agree for the most part, but to say a good song must be obsure would be assuming a song with an agenda is a bad song. Some songs are meant to inspire certain values or a train of thought and i can think of many a good song that does that. I have to agree that this song is most deffinately meant to be a bit obscure. I love the eye of providence and the picture of what i thought was ET; they get people's minds wandering every which dirrection. Coupled with the erie background in the video, I was thinking aliens or government conspiracy at first, but it just doesn't fit the lyrics. Still cool, I'm sure that was deliberate.

Also notice the orbiting planets with AN labeled on one and what looks like a stick figure on the middle one. Maybe his different spheres of thought floating around him. His desk seems to give an impression that he is in a state of nostalgia. Notice the items on it are a bit dated and then there is the book (funny thought, books themselves are dated) with some sort of writing, maybe Japanese or hyroglyphs. The page then turns to what looks like scribbles when the light shines in and then pictures start covering up and flapping in the wind (so cool, makes them look alive) Maybe the light is making everything obscure and he's fighting it, but finally gives in when he realizes there's no escaping it. (The lights remind me of a stadium) Another thing to note is that he's not recording in the bathroom. I'm not sure what to make of that , but the recorder seems to be holding another meaning.

I'd have to agree with the distinctive break up of the stanzas. I think they are meant to be seperate thoughts fleeting through his mind. The video emphasizes the random thoughts that he's gennerating and "classifying" as due to his ADD. The pictures on the wall are extremely random: 2 wolves fighting, what looks like a giesha, a soldier arming a big gun, a naked person curled up on the ground, and ET? OK ET is really several duplicate images of a person made to look like an alien, I think the eyes are the key there ;)

In a way it is... I'm sure someone without "ADD" would experience the same high ;) Don't sail myself but love fishing, that's my peace time. Some say I spend way too much time on it, I say not enough ;) Especially when you get that perfect day!

Can you give a reference to where Aaron Bruno said that? I've seen quite a few posts stating that, but i can only find interviews where he states he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. Nonetheless i don't think it really matters, i think the song is talking more about being misunderstood. Nobody could really comprehend how he saw things. You must go into the darkness to see the light ;) and not many people are willing/capable of doing that.
