I think this song is about a destructive relationship (romantic or a very close friendship). Both people love each other, but they are both so deep down in darkness (depression/sadness etc.) that they can't help each other. Probably, the narrator was affected by the other person to fall in to the darkness, hence the first two lines. The twilight is a symbol for how they are stuck in a situation that isn't downright horrible, the twilight is just a big nothing, so they can't really end it. In the end, they get out of the twilight by accepting the darkness, because that's where they find each other. |

I strongly believe this song is about escapism. Half of the lyrics are about anxiety, and not feeling like you or your life is good enough, always wanting something more. The other half is the one where she says "I can do this, but I have to at least pretend to have some of those things that I can't have. Otherwise I will drown." Also, this is absolutely true: "You tell me everything's all right As though it's something you've been through" |

These lyrics are much like what what I wrote in my diary a few years ago, I was so obsessed with perfection and I seriously felt like I would give ANYTHING for just ONE moment of absolute perfection. I then found out that the whole world's a lie, and that perfection is a lie, because perfection is just a feeling, and not something that can be reached by changing things around you. You have to change yourself in a way that is more than just being a better person, you have to change your way of seeing things. Also, Edboy is so right about the words and the notes being made for each other. This is a perfect example of how to write a song. It's just way too short.... |

I think the narrator believe in there not being a point in living, because humans are mere animals, and personalities are just chemical reactions in our brain. Our brains are just boxes that you put things in, like words, music and antidepressants, and without that we are nothing. "my mind is a line running down my spine" Yep, that's the spinal chord! |

When they trick Malvolio to believe Olivia is in love with him by sending him a letter "from her". I know he's an ironic character, and there's nothing romantic about him, but I can't help but feel so very sorry for him when Olivia is all like "uhm.. this isn't my handwriting..". |

This song could be about using drugs to escape life, or escaping life by just not caring. Or maybe about always searching and never finding. But to me personally it's about wanting to take that final step, and deciding to kill yourself. After thinking about it for so long, you suddenly feel a little hope. But it always ends in Disappointment, and you don't even have the guts to kill yourself. |

These lyrics are so beautiful, and I can relate to them so much. I think that this is about two people loving each other. Friends, family or lovers, doesn't matter. It's two people that has a beautiful relationship, but it's also taking a lot of energy from them both, because they both have difficulties in life which tends to hurt the other one. Therefore they constantly keep leaving each other, to not hurt the other one, and to not get hurt. At the same time they need each other to survive. "and so back and forth for the last time, this fear is gone our last words wont celebrate the end of this jealous town, I know I wont come back and you cant hold back the tears as you know that you have every reason to live" To me this is how one of them finally has decided that they can't keep on like this, and s/he knows s/he won't come back. S/he does it with confidence since s/he thinks the other person can survive it. That person might be suicidal, but has every reason to live, and the person leaving is sure that this will make life easier. But yeah, this is just my opinion, and I developed it while in a similar situation, so it might actually be about rabbits, or whatever. |

To me, this is about the weapon industry. Sweden puts tax money in producing weapons and selling them to other countries, while everyone thinks that this is such a peaceful country. I can see why people think that this is about a relationship, but I still really believe in my idea. Sound more like something The Knife would write about. |
