Slayer – Jesus Saves Lyrics 7 years ago
@[animal_house210:15607] But who's more arrogant than many of these jerk off atheists? They're they're the worst of them. The ones who believe "Bang!" That somehow is seen as intellectually superior to an intelligent creator and some sort of afterlife. Lots of atheists are people of course. Bill Maher isn't. And Tom Araya is in fact a good Catholic. Darn doodly iddley! Slayer is as immortal as Ned Flanders.

One of his best. Obvious meaning, timeless gem. But why call it Americana?

The Rolling Stones – Undercover Of The Night Lyrics 8 years ago
Damn right! That's about how old I was. Then lost interest as years went on in favor of "the old stuff". But now there's no denyin this baddass. I don't understand how one can love the old coked up classics like Gimme Shelter and Monkey Man and fail to see how great this is. Ya gotta be nuts. The volume wah pedal! Great song. And what isn't fuckin awesome about the lyrics? Ya think lyrics aren't good if ain't Blowin In the Wind or somethin? Rules!

GG Allin – Brutality And Bloodshed For All Lyrics 10 years ago
"From the shadows within my soul
A CALL for brutality and bloodshed for all". Close eoungh though. Brilliant song. A better MIsfits song than any actual Misfits song. Rest of the album is pretty generically cliche. Titles like, "Punch, Bite and Poop", "Stealing, Running, Getting Caught and Bummed Out", "Going to the Store and Farting", "Kill, Crap, Do Bad Stuff, Smell Bad, Be Late For Work". Not very good. But this one's a fuckin' classic. A favorite. Best GG tune since the Jabbers.

Anyone who's ever been lost in North Philly after dark knows exactly what this song is about. Or Trenton, Camden, Newark, etc.

The Dictators – Weekend Lyrics 11 years ago
Perhaps a bit more than most others, this song means the Dictators are the greatest fucking band ever. It's about being the luckiest S.O.B. on Earth- an American teenage punk who only cares about loud rock music, getting intoxicated, breaking your friends balls, having fun AND OF COURSE, GIRLS. Once you're that lucky, you're always that lucky. Back when I was 15, my brother gave me a sealed copy of "Go Girl Crazy" and suddenly I didn't have any questions anymore. Life made sense. I remember thinking I would know better when I got older. Now that I have, I only know that nothing's changed. The weekend is the greatest gift of life itself. Only now I DO know it even better. The Dictators – Two Tub Man Lyrics 11 years ago
I was sure hopin' someone else here might know. My guess is it started as meaning a dude that's got two tubs? Like, 'My house is so plush, I can bathe or pee in two seperate locations. I have arrived! Feast your eyes on my glory.' Then the song ended up not being about that at all lyric-wise but they decided to keep that chorus part 'cause it sounds cool. And they may have thought it might stir up some chatter about, 'what the hell does 'two tub' mean?' which might gain them some attention. Look it's finally working! Yeah, pretty lousy theory but I ain't heard a better one. D.F.F.D.

Grateful Dead – Box Of Rain Lyrics 12 years ago
Man, yous are messin' it up for me. The first time I heard that Phil Lesh wrote this for his father while he was on his death bed I thought it was absolutely the most powerfully beautiful thing I'd ever heard. I didn't find it sad at all. It makes sense to me. And I love it. Beautiful. So I'm stickin' with that explanation.

The Rolling Stones – Soul Survivor Lyrics 12 years ago
This is one of thee greatest songs ever recorded. But they got the beginning wrong. It's , "Winter walruses rub, and shave your tongue, Aqua trow in yo lung". At least that what it sounded like to me the first 20 times I heard it. Seriously though, the real lyrics are great. The first time I found out what all the "Exile" lyrics really are was a wonderful revelation. That's the best rock n roll album ever whether you know the words or not.

The Rolling Stones – All Down The Line Lyrics 12 years ago
To me this song was always a blue collar Saturday night anthem- Loudly partying with your baby and some friends at home, surrounded by all your drunken nieghbors. A wise man once said, "Work is the curse of the drinking class". Amen.
