Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent Lyrics 12 years ago
It's about a young woman who is losing her lustre.. and knows it. There's nothing else to be read into it, would you like to deconstruct the lyrics of "New Amsterdam" by Elvis Costella while you're at it?

Yeah that's the most rational explanation here.

Santigold – Shove It Lyrics 12 years ago
please refrain from line by line deconstructions. songs are generally poetry not prose and at that I think you'd get very mean little man if you shoved cameras in Harlan Ellison's face and tried to tell him your line by line interpretation of "Repent Harlequin, Said the ticktoc man."

Santigold – Lights Out Lyrics 12 years ago
This song reminds a lot of Res' first album... I wonder if Santi had it written around that time..

Santigold – L.E.S. Artistes Lyrics 12 years ago
My brother says this to me: "I think most song writers don't know what a song is about long after they write it." A lot of songs are written, at the time, to emote and particularly in a way to make a good document on which to tour on. {I mean if it's more than just you, a bottle of vodka, and a youtube camera.) Songs, perhaps, are written more to elicit emotion than identify and express it. That being said: this is a great song.

Cop Shoot Cop – Room 429 Lyrics 12 years ago
Actually it was about a rental property where half of the brick building had been torn off by an overgrowth of some "climber"-type plant (a trumpetvine or wild ivy, something of that sort.) Room 429 was on the fourth floor and 3/4 of the room remain while the entire outer wall had been pulled off. A few of them used to go there and drink and reflect. Tod Ashley now lives in Turkey and Firewater is coming out with a new album, if you'd like I can acquire the exact address where the building used to stand and you can see if it's an empty lot or a new development and tell us all, since you know everything, addiction-boy.
