The song is not necessarily about the christian religion or jesus although I could see how someone that follows that particular faith would see it as so. As the man points out in the song, you will never comprehend.It is ying and yang, good and bad, the highest level of pure consciousness that could possibly be. Above human; it is not mere man or woman or anything so bound by earthly rules. Your messiah is that which makes you strive for your truth. I do appreciate that this song can be personal to anyone because it transcends mere dogma. |

no comments? Really? John Waite had an excellent voice, a sweet little 70's song that takes me back to being a child and listening to AM radio. :) A song about finding the one, and everyone doubting that you as a couple won't make it. And you do in spite of it all. |

Actually this was a song written by Stevie Nicks in collaboration with Don Henley by request from Waylon; he wanted to sing it with his wife at the time. But by the time Stevie finished it (with help from Henley) Waylon and Jessi were breaking up. Stevie then decided after all the work put into it by her and Henley and that it is meant for a duet, they recorded it. |
