Saliva – Bleed For Me Lyrics | 6 years ago |
I also think this is about a lost chance / missed opportunity that the singer regrets. He was either in love someone and couldn't see that she liked him too. Or, he wasn't in love but when he found out later that she liked him and realized that maybe she was the one, it was too late. Either way, the singer missed his chance and now this girl is stuck in his mind. "Now I'm stuck out of line" basically means that it would be out of line for him to try to do anything with this girl now. She's gone and he needs to move on but can't. |

@[lostinrio:21826] very well explained. I have the exact same interpretation. |
Tracy Chapman – Baby Can I Hold You Lyrics | 8 years ago |
This song is about making mistakes and the regret you feel after making them. But more importantly, the singer is in a situation where saying 'sorry' or 'forgive me' is not appropriate or maybe even unacceptable. It's a bit philosophical in a way. There are some things you can't take back or apologize for. And it doesn't have to be something really bad or dramatic (like cheating). It can be a small thing. The singer lost someone she really loves and there's nothing she can do about it... |
The Rolling Stones – You Can't Always Get What You Want Lyrics | 8 years ago |
@[Abeer:6322] I think your interpretation is spot on, especially about the woman we visit at the beginning and the end of the song. |
The Beach Boys – That's Not Me Lyrics | 8 years ago |
Pretty straight forward. He left everything, including this girl he loved, in pursuit of his dream in a big city. He thought he could make it alone. But now he's feeling empty and lonely, and he regrets leaving his sweetheart behind. |
The Carpenters – Let Me Be The One Lyrics | 9 years ago |
To me the singer is in love with someone who is already in a relationship. The entire song is her asking him to choose her if he should ever break up with his current partner hence: "If you should find yourself alone, Let me be the one you run to" |
The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[Leah96:4012] Excellent interpretation. I agree, that's how I understand this song as well. |
Oasis – Live Forever Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I came here to write about this song but Wilson0692's comment on the previous page summed up everything I wanted to say. It's about someone who wants to live life and go after their dreams. Someone who tires to escape a mundane life. A masterpiece written by Noel. |
Aimee Mann – Today's The Day Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I love the lyrics and her voice. This song is about someone who's in an insane environment, and the last straw that breaks the camel's back happens and that person decides to breakaway. It could be about breaking away from a relationship, leaving home or just quitting a job. "And isn't it enough to prove today's the day?" - It's like she's saying isn't there enough reasons for you to get the hell out of this situation you're in? |
Enigma – Return To Innocence Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is very peaceful, spiritual and... innocent :) as its title says. I love it |
Oasis – Rock 'n' Roll Star Lyrics | 12 years ago |
What blows me away about this song is that Noel wrote it when he was unemployed and on the dole (long before he became successful). When he says 'In my mind my dreams are real', it means that he's dreaming about being a Rock N' Roll star and he's acting like one - even though he's not. Fate would have it that Noel really did become a very famous Rock N' Roll star, and this would be the opening tune of his band's first album. |

New Radicals – You Get What You Give Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I meant to say that this song will always LIFT your spirits up :) |
New Radicals – You Get What You Give Lyrics | 12 years ago |
When I first heard and fell in love with this song, I was fourteen. And guess what, I also have the dreamer's disease (I kid you not). I hadn't heard this song in years, and when they played once again on the radio, I remembered why it's my favorite tune. This song is about perseverance, self-belief, optimism, staying true to yourself, going for your dreams, enjoying your life, not caring what people think and believing that if you give you will be rewarded. This song will always life your spirits up. Thank you Gregg Alexander and New Radicals for such a masterpiece! |
Oasis – Stay Young Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This amazing song is very underrated. It's about keeping a high spirits no matter what anyone says r whatever is happening around you. |
John Lennon – Watching The Wheels Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This song is simply about someone who doesn't have motivation for financial or material success and wants to simply do what they love (in this case, it's being a stay-at-home dad with his son). |
Oasis – The Masterplan Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I love this song. So full of little life lessons. A masterpiece written by Noel. " Take the time to make some sense Of what you want to say And cast your words away upon the waves" When you've got something very important to say, take the time to think about it and then express it. It could be a thing about quitting a job, breaking up, telling someone you like them, expressing a strong opinion etc... "Sail them home with acquiesce On a ship of hope today And as they land upon the shore Tell them not to fear no more Say it loud and sing it proud today..." Let your words reach the other person without fear. And once you've said them, don't carry any regrets and be proud to have stated your opinion genuinely. "And then dance if you want to dance Please brother take a chance You know they're gonna go Which way they wanna go" Take a chance and follow your dreams in life. Becaue either way, the others are going to do whatever they want regardless. "All we know is that we don't know How it's gonna be Please brother let it be" We have to accept that no matter what we do, life is uncertain and we can never predict the future. "I'm not saying right is wrong It's up to us to make The best of all the things that come our way" It's up to us to make the best out of what we have in life and enjoy it. "Coz everything that's been has past The answer's in the looking glass" Don't dread on the past, you hold the answer at this moment in time. "There's four and twenty million doors On life's endless corridor" There are endless possibilities and roads we can choose in life. We shouldn't let it confuse us. "Life on the other hand won't make you understand We're all part of the masterplan" I think the mastplan could have different meanings. Maybe he means that everything is already pre-determined and we shouldn't worry too much about it. Or maybe he means we're part of a masterplan from the government and the hierarchy who wants to force us into paths we don't want to take. It can be interpreted in many different ways and it's an awesome song! |
Oasis – Listen Up Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Forgot to add that I absolutely love this song :) |
Oasis – Listen Up Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think Noel wrote this song at a timne where he was stuck in a dreadful job and was dreaming of becoming a musician. This song is to any artist who is stuck in a 'conventional' life but wants to get out and live his dream. " Day by day There's a man in a suit Who's gonna make you pay For the thoughts that you think And the words they won't let you say " He's probably talking about his boss (or any other boss in the world), to whom you have to suck up and not say anything ot else you could get fired. And, as an artist, you suffer because you cannot express your real self and the thoughts in your head at work. "One fine day Gonna leave you all behind It wouldn't be so bad If I had more time" He's waiting for the day where he's gonna be able to quit this job and leave all these 'conventional' people behind, in order to follow his dreams of becoming a musician. This part is to any artist who wants to quit their day job and follow their heart. "But I don't believe in magic Life is automatic " He's saying here that if you want to make a big change in your life, it's not gonna magically happen. You need to take actiona nd go after what you want. "But I don't mind being on my own No, I don't mind being on my own" He doesn't mind being one of the few people who actually decide to do what they want and enjoy life - instead of following all these conventional people. |
